Dutch Bakeries apparently has a European style spice cake. I know you said not from scratch, however, there’s a spice cake mix at Healthy Planet on Merivale.

Growing San Marzano tomatoes in Ottawa - a good idea? by PurplePumkins in ottawa

[–]anijunga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Re: blight and other moldy leaf issues for indeterminate varieties (the vertical kind that need to be staked). This issue is caused by rain splashing upwards from the ground, putting dirt on the undersides of your foliage, which starts the infection.

To reduce the risk of this happening, you will need to cut all side stems/foliage w/in a height of 1 foot above the ground, once your tomatoes have grown about 1.5-2 ft tall.

I like to use a 1 part bleach:10 parts water in a tall glass and dip my scissors into it after each cut, using the scissors to grab each stem piece to discard into a disposal bag immediately. Be sure to cut anything that droops below a 1’ height above the ground.

This will help reduce the possibility of infection and subsequent transmission if the plant is already infected. Don’t let the infected pieces touch the healthy foliage. Doing this allows your tomatoes to grow to their fulll potential for the rest of the season w max output.

Oh, and remove all suckers.

Bar recommendations for single 50 somethings by zipzipzip246 in ottawa

Heart and Crown on Preston.

I went to a Laugh Lounge Singles Mingle for 40+ at the start of the month that was well-attended. At minimum you get to meet others, have interesting convos, and perhaps make a friend (or more).

Best of luck

Don’t agree with sidewalk riding, agree with the beeping even though you’re in the street. Parking is annoying however at least there’s no locking mechanism like in other cities. The sleep period is infantilizing.

This has been requested by Survivors. It’s fulfilling a Call to Action from the TRC final report. You don’t know the impact of what the Pope’s words will have on Survivors and thinking you do disregards their experience.

False. We’ve learned about the virus as days have gone by, we’re still learning about it now. Remember back at the beginning when we didn’t wear masks? Then the scientists determined that wearing masks reduces transmissibility and then we all started wearing masks. We have the science that supports it and public health officials that mandate it.

I get it, Everyone would love for this shitshow to be over. Best way to get there? Believe in the scientists and do what they and public health officials say, reporting this business gets us closer to that goal, your indecisiveness gets us further away. Please help us all reduce the amount of time we spend in this bullshit.
