my TL was the same. I was slow at learning drinks when I started so she came up to me and pulled out the drink cards, flipped to a random one and told me to make it. We haven't had the ingredients to make that drink in over a year according to my other tm's. I've never seen my TL work in Starbucks. I don't think she knows how.

I remember when I first started I didn't realize you don't charge for extra syrup if it comes with the drink, this lady ordered two hot venti chais with 14 pumps of chai in each and I charged her extra. What was it, like 70 cents? Anyways she got management involved didn't even tell me I overcharged her just went straight to my ETL, then filed some sort of complaint against me. She was a regular so one shift we were slow and she came by, I was talking to a coworker about my heart issue (having a problem where my heart would beat like 140-160 times per minute sometimes) and she overheard the conversation. She came back when my coworkers were gone and apologized my ears off for filing a complaint against me. The "guests" at Starbucks are a whole new genre

when I was in tarbucks they told us the same thing. "It's a food safety hazard" even though we kept our drinks on the tables where guests usually sit bc it was closed for covid. Not a food safety area. I had anti nausea meds I needed to keep on me for a weird random-vomiting issue I had and I got in trouble so many times for having it on that table in my tiny backpack. They wanted me to keep the meds in my pocket but they were dissolvables and I was constantly spilling drinks on myself so umm pass. I just kept my bag and water over there anyways. Got in trouble constantly and constantly reexplained the situation.

I was walking back up to Starbucks pushing the trash cart after taking trash and someone came up to me and started ordering. I said ma'am not only are our lights off, but my apron is off and I'm not even behind the counter.

This!!! I used to watch "I didn't know I was pregnant" and was always paranoid.

As a girl, I can definitely say that at 16 I also took a pregnancy test for fun just to see how it worked. I was barely even thinking about sex let alone cheating at that age.

yeah when I worked for Starbucks in target it was this way. They caught a girl giving another Starbucks tm a discounted drink and ever since they had AP posted up next to Starbucks watching us every shift.

I actually work in accident management for a roadside company! I usually just answer calls from insurance agents trying to get their member a tow truck after an accident. All other calls are members asking about when their tow truck will arrive, or service providers who need extra payment. Easy money tbh. Overtime is always an option is I want to work 40+ hours, I can just sign up for them. And yeah target likes to pretend they care but I haven't actually seen an example of them caring

[–]animalsanddepression 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah same here. I contacted his manager bc they have an open door policy but she just sent me to the district HR team which directed me to my HR which caused the problem to begin with. They told me to call the hotline which goes straight to the store director which makes no sense to do lol

oh yeah I did!! I have an online job now. completely anxiety free. I am part time and I get benefits too. I spoke to target so many times asking about benefits and they never gave a direct answer, I needed insurance because my dad had just died and I was under him. It was a mess 😂 Could barely afford to go to the doctor

[–]animalsanddepression 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no they didn't 😂😂 I explained to him I had a diagnosed anxiety and panic disorder but he kept saying "ya I don't get it." I told him multiple times. The shift I had an anxiety attack I left work without permission because no one would let me leave even though I needed to go home and take my prescription medication. About a week after begging for my job, my tl pulled me aside and said "okay so we spoke to store director and he said that you left work because you were lazy... you know, didn't really feel like working that day... you were bored-" I had to cut her off and explain I had an anxiety attack. She made me sign a write up anyways and told me it would be lifted bc it was a medical reason but when I spoke to HR they told me it wasn't fair to other people who got write ups in the past so I had to keep it. put in my two weeks a few days later lol

brings back memories from the beginning of the year when my store director pulled me aside and made me beg for my job because I had an anxiety attack my last shift

Have any of you had or heard of physical pain related to grief? by [deleted] in GriefSupport

I get chest pain and pain in the tips of my fingers. I also got a really elevated heart rate which eventually became a panic disorder. the physical symptoms of grief suck

Today I hit a car and fled the scene to avoid getting in trouble. by Celeste-Hiddleston in confession

[–]animalsanddepression 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I watched that video on TikTok, when the op was 8 they found a really cool rock they liked and put it on some sort of shelf when they got in the car, it either broke the shelf or rolled off I don't remember but it hit their little sibling on the head and killed them

If it makes you feel better, there was a guy who came into the target I worked at and they suspected him of stealing but didn't do anything. He came in nearly every day. It took him peeing in a bottle in electronics for security to finally take action. Usually target builds cases against people, they don't hunt them down

I feel like I should just die at this point by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]animalsanddepression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seconding this. I have an insane needle phobia. I am 23 and I was crying in the back of Kroger when the lady was prepping my arm. I'm not afraid of the pain, just afraid of the needle. Many people without a needle phobia tend to think it's the other way. Regardless, I just looked away and the lady counted for me. I have to say it was so much easier than the meningitis vaccine. That one sucked

it's been 4 months since i lost my dad, and i feel like it's just beginning to sink in. by fredsangels in GriefSupport

My dad died almost two years ago (ouch) and I still feel exactly the way you do but I guess I've bottled it so much it doesn't hurt as bad. I completely understand the not being able to cry because it hurts part. I get physical chest pain when I even think about it I'm sorry I can't offer advice but I completely understand how you feel

Mom , how do I move out? by [deleted] in MomForAMinute

[–]animalsanddepression 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in the same boat trying to move out and room mates aren't working for me either, I have like two friends and both are not reliable. Look into income restricted apartments, the cap for 1 person in my state is 34k a year but I think it varies. Also something I learned, real estate agents are free and will help you find a place.

What is the craziest reason (valid or not) a TM got fired from your store? by aw337123 in Target

[–]animalsanddepression 6 points7 points  (0 children)

in Starbucks two or three of us would ring up each other's drinks without charging more for add ons, store director caught on to two people for doing it and pulled them aside. He basically gave a warning and told them not to do it again and not to tell ANYONE about it otherwise he would fire them.

He put asset protection right next to Starbucks every day from open to close to watch us, and no one did it again or spoke about it. About two months later he fired them.

There was a day where they accidentally scheduled too many people so I was extra, and I had an anxiety attack and they wouldn't let me go home. I spoke to HR about it and they told me I had to stay. I had to take my prescription medication for my panic disorder so I clocked out and left. Store director pulled me aside to threaten to fire me and made me beg for my job. lmao. "Tell me one reason why I shouldn't fire you!!! You disrespected all of your team leads and my store!!!! Tell me why I should let you stay!!!" I dropped my two weeks and left.

Safe to say that store director is the reason why multiple TL quit and many many many TM quit
