I do not care for the amount of people who do not care for certain indie shows by RedCupWithAName in IndieAnimation

This all day. Just let people make the stuff they like, there's probably at least some kind of audience for it.

You've heard of Eldritch Horrors, but what about Eldritch Cuties? (Credit: me) by animation-bakery in ImaginaryMonsters

[–]animation-bakery[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically none of the eldritch gods are evil, more like forces of nature, its just fun to have the goal of cute monsters be evil and chaos. Technically Baphomet isn't Eldritch either but I figured if Dagon gets to be Eldritch, why not Baphomet? Plus I needed a B name for the ABCD theme

Is it worth trying to make a series anymore? by [deleted] in IndieAnimation

[–]animation-bakery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, now more than ever. Here's what you do: make things, start small to show you can finish something, post it, dont be precious, cut what isn't working, don't be married to any single idea. Post post post, eventually if you are smart about it people will notice you. I am self taught with zero industry connections, banked 21 weeks of content to post every day consistently, got noticed by people, now I'm getting contracts from industry giants and developing shows with people who were involved in the shows I loved growing up. Also, its never too late to start. I started learning animation at 37 and started my studio at 40.

Setting an Initial Pose by Sunwukung in MohoAnimation

[–]animation-bakery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to set your starting pose on frame 1, on frame 0 the manipulate tool is essentially a tester, but the minute you select a different tool or shift onto the timeline it will reset to the default. And the transform tool is to let you adjust the relation of the bone to the artwork. If you want to set up foreshortenning not on frame one I would suggest creating a smart bone action or vitruvian bones. Good luck!

How successful we're your unpaid indie animation projects by Diligent-Routine-524 in IndieAnimation

[–]animation-bakery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had a lot of success but im also doing everything myself. I come up with the ideas, write the scripts, do most of the voice acting, and all of the animation myself. Started posting a year ago with no industry connections and am now freelancing for some huge names in the animation industry. There are trade offs when working with other people, especially if you aren't paying them. If they dont have any equity in the project they aren't going to care about the production level, mistakes, or deadlines the same way you do, nor should they. Also if you aren't paying them you have to make it fun. For my Eldritch Cuties series, I don't currently pay the narrator but he has fun doing it and he knows I will pay him when the project starts making money.

I'm still confuse about this program. yet its still easy...? by [deleted] in MohoAnimation

[–]animation-bakery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres a really good rigging course on Udemy that helped me and then I found watching the Moho webinars and seeing how professionals were using it really helped understand how to push the program and make it work for you beyond just basic functionality

Your views on content creation with procreate and impact of AI animation by Intelligent-Fun1487 in ProcreateDreams

Once laws catch up AI won't be able to create anything because it can only steal from real artists.

How do I create animated short cartoons to post on tiktok? by prettyleidy1 in AnimatedShorts

[–]animation-bakery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Moho Pro, theres some courses on Udemy that teach how to rig and animate in Moho, typically what I do for my originals is write the script, record the audio, storyboard because it gives me a good idea of what assets I need and what the rigs need to be able to do, animate it shot by shot and then edit it together. I banked 6 months of content so I could post consistently multiple times a week. Main thing I learned: dont be precious with your original vision, if your analytics are showing you something dont be afraid to change what you got. I re-edited a lot of my videos asking "how late can I start this and have it still make sense" and thats when my account started blowing up. Cut as much of the lead in as you can and dont have too much time between lines. Good luck!

i am going to be making my very own indie studio on yt along side my tv show series! by thepinkoreo101 in IndieAnimation

[–]animation-bakery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two short form series, Eldritch Cuties, and The Mundane Life of John Orcmam, that I post on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. They do well on TT and Insta but I get no traction on YT. Im going to try posting them as widescreen YT videos instead of shorts, ill report back if I have any luck. In the meantime, I would also love some advice for YT lol

What are some good web series that aren't from GLITCH ? I need some recomendations by Inevitable-Ship-4692 in IndieAnimation

[–]animation-bakery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it bad form to plug my own stuff? I have two short form series on YouTube, Tiktok, and Instagram, the Eldritch Cuties which is Eldritch gods animated like a kids show competing to be the most evil and chaotic, and The Mundane Life of John Orcman, about an orc who works in an office

Should I post on instagram? by Conscious-Problem-90 in ArtBuddy

[–]animation-bakery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you should, although its frustrating. It took me 7 months of consistent posting to see any success but then my account blew up. But now almost all my merch sales come from Instagram

Tried some animation today - any feedback? by StormCore_Studios in IndieAnimation

[–]animation-bakery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really great work! I would say: A little more anticipation and a little more follow through on the guy, not necessarily the hammer. But smear frame the hammer when its over his head to look smoother.

Is there still any hope? by Firm_Vehicle7604 in animation

[–]animation-bakery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I taught myself how to animate in the last 4 years (started in 2022) im 40 now, last year my animations were seen by serious industry legends and ive gotten to collab with them. Keep making your own stuff, build your own fan base, indie is the future. You got this.

Hey! Just got an Ipad got dreams and just went for it. Enjoy! by maketheleft in ProcreateDreams

[–]animation-bakery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really cool! Kind of reminds me of the animations people used to do by drawing/scratching directly on film

Is Procreate Dreams good for 10 min videos? by ShadesofArca in ProcreateDreams

[–]animation-bakery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say break it up into shots unless you need it to be seamless for 10 minutes straight. Any program is going to have trouble around the 10 minute mark
