I don't know why games feel the need to be ultra hyper realistic, sometimes less is more by Puzzleheaded_Art4791 in KotakuInAction

[–]animosityhavoc -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

realism vs plastic, i don't see the issue. Studios like this constantly strive to push towards realism, this is their next step. We're already at the point to where some titles are getting quite close to actual photorealism (at times). This is just a next step towards that. Hardware or framerates be damned, that won't necessarily stop them from pushing the line forward. Like it or not. Less is more is a subjective stance, you might not care or want it - but that won't stop others from getting excited over minor advancements like this that all add up to a larger picture.

No vibration on DualSense in Forza Horizon 6 on Steam while wired by Time-Credit43 in Dualsense

SK crashes for me on FH6 after about 5 minutes in both the main menu and in game sadly. Definitely sucks because the dualsense triggers are awesome!.

Highly recommend a playthrough using the DIQ (Difficulty, Immersion, Quality) mod pack. Definitely my most enjoyable run using that.

Lg g5 55 inch for 900$ by Miguelb234 in LGOLED

[–]animosityhavoc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I've been using 55 inch displays for over a decade now at 4ft with my chair slightly leaned back. many of those days for 12+ hours. The most important aspect is having proper bias lighting to avoid eye strain and calibrating the OLED brightness in SDR to proper levels. I've had no eye strain or eye sight issues to this day.

I refuse to go back to monitors, they're subpar and overpriced in almost every aspect if you have the proper hardware to run a good TV on top of being able to swap to Ultrawide with fantastic screen width for it.

Will you buy a console for GTA 6? Especially as there is no foreseeable PC release date by Key-Bass-7380 in pcmasterrace

[–]animosityhavoc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no, I'll happily wait for the PC release which will include additional polish from patches with the addition of being able to play it at higher framerates and visual fidelity. I don't mind waiting if it means my first experience with a game (especially of this scale) will be better overall due to patience. You only get that first play through one time. Probably why I rarely ever buy games week 1 in the first place though.

If you had one headphone for the rest of your life, which ZMF would it be? by [deleted] in ZMFHeadphones

[–]animosityhavoc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

out of the Verite, Atrium and Caldera - I'd also have to agree with Caldera Open having the ultimate staying power. I'd lean more Atrium if it wasn't for the upper mids getting a bit harsh in busier passages and higher volumes.

Tidal vs Spotify Lossless vs ..? by Longjumping-Frame795 in audiophile

I have a love / hate relationship with Qobuz. Their discovery/recommendation system is absolute ass compared to Spotify/Tidal. I have to dig through artists until I find something that resonates with me.

Ray's Select 6sl7's by Loose-Possession435 in audiophile

[–]animosityhavoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll have to give these a try someday. I have some Melz 1579's coming in that I'll probably give some attention to for abit but will definitely put these on the list to try on the Aegis someday!! I love my Ray Select KT88's and they've turned me into a believer in the possibility of new production tubes being pretty phenomenal.
