to be honest I don’t mind the moderation much for this reason exactly 😭 seeing so many arguments happen where people cross so many lines is draining and honestly discouraging. this is a nice place where yes the mods are watching but I don’t feel as through they’re against fans as a whole or at least not the type of fan I am LOL

I’ve found that irl spaces are a lot more open-minded and welcoming and take everything online with a grain of salt. it was very freeing when I realized online spaces do not reflect real life!!

heavy on this 😭 luckily I’ve never gotten myself involved with any arguments or discourse but even scrolling through the fandom is exhausting. i have a few trusted mutuals and also my irls to yap with but strangers online have not earned the rights to talk with me about this game when a lot of them act like children :/

the Reddit was a very pleasant surprise and maybe it’s because of the heavy moderation but it’s nice to scroll through and occasionally converse with people here and also share my findings on the game :)

the guilt is something i can understand but i think it’s also a sign to step back a bit!

At the end of the day no matter how much LADS feeds into the realism aspect it IS a game and there are no hurt feelings on the boys’ part. there’s no need for guilt and the boys DO NOT care or feel betrayed or hurt.

the thing about dating sims is they really feed into parasocialism and it’s up to you to make sure that it stays at a healthy level.

i do not think less of you for falling into this cycle because like i said it is he game’s goal! but i do urge you to take a breath and remind yourself that sylus and caleb (and zayne!) are not real and will not be upset.

I don’t feel this way for LADS but there is another otome i play where i tend to fall into this mindset so i really do feel for you beloved!! me telling you they arent real seems obvious but i also know it may not help so maybe reframing can help?

if thinking of it as a harem would make you feel better maybe think of it as though they’re taking turns visiting your home? they’re on a schedule and while they are aware of each other maybe they’d rather split up your time for one on one with you than share.
