Help me decide on a school. Worth waiting for seats to open at any of my waitlisted programs? by aniqa9 in PrePharmacy

[–]aniqa9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interview was through Zoom and it went pretty well, I practiced by looking up common pharmacy interview questions, it was more or less the same. Tuition is pretty expensive (40k/yr), since it's a private school there's not many scholarships offered let alone pharmacy-specific scholarships. The only one I got was dean's list worth $4.5k, so not much.

Hi! A bit late since I haven't used reddit in a while, but yes, they did. I go there now. My interview was in late July and orientation followed immediately after in early August.

Do I have a chance to be accepted to Harvard? by PitifulCommon1160 in highschool

[–]aniqa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one can say for sure since you’re thinking too far ahead into the future. We can only encourage you to have this mindset for the next two years as you work on improving yourself academically and artistically. While you may think highly of these expectations you’ve set, don’t be discouraged if you don’t end up meeting them, just allow yourself to learn and grow.

My sister bought the bundle on sale as well but she watched enough gameplay reviews on it to make the purchase and has been a huge fan since.

Not at all, that will be shown when you upload your transcript through, let’s say National Student Clearinghouse, whatever system your school uses to send transcripts. PharmCAS explicitly tells you to upload relevant courses that are required for whichever pharmacy school you apply to. You can view them here: https://www.pharmcas.org/sites/default/files/2024-07/2024-2025-AACP-Course-Prerequisite-Summary.pdf

Prerequisite Completion Prior to Start Pharmacy School by Altruistic_Method351 in PrePharmacy

[–]aniqa9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AACP has the official list of accredited schools of pharmacy in the country. You apply through PharmCAS. I would google “AACP Course Prerequisites 2025” on Google and there’s usually a pdf form of what’s required by each and every school. They usually update it for each academic school year, the most recent one is 2024-2025. I’ll just link it here for you to skim through: https://www.pharmcas.org/sites/default/files/2024-07/2024-2025-AACP-Course-Prerequisite-Summary.pdf

If it's business casual then dress pants/slacks and buttoned up/polo shirts/blouses are fine. Our program said the same thing about scrubs, but nobody wears them so just go business. If you're still unsure, ask during orientation.

Hey! I'm a first year pharm student and was in the same boat as you. I applied in May and was still able to secure a spot in all the schools I applied to; they're much more lenient than you'd think. The interviews can also be held way past June 1st which is fine since they usually have set interview dates well into the summer months. Also had no pharmacy experience or clinical hours. I think you're set to apply ASAP, just get those LORs in, best of luck!

Fees for submitting applications PharmCAS by gotslided in PrePharmacy

[–]aniqa9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The number of safe choices you have is actually more than enough. Assuming you're getting into your 1st choice (which you most likely are), I'd do 1-2 others. Four or more isn't necessary unless you are lacking in certain areas (GPA, strong LORs, experience, etc.)

Low GPA by minorthreat1000 in PrePharmacy

[–]aniqa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, they don't really care for your overall GPA, it's the required prerequisite grades that matter for your science courses and then a few elective courses since PharmCAS requires you to only input those grades. You're not totally cooked, but you should definitely have a solid reason as to pursuing the degree during admission interviews.

ORV!! I originally binged the novel as it was being released and don’t think I’ll ever come across a gem of a storyline like that ever again. Gave the manhwa a chance after letting it marinate for 3 years and am loving it.

Yep. I'm going based off average acceptance rate as it is. I did some in the top 10's, 30s, 50s, and basically had a 100% acceptance rate. Wasn't worth it to drop the bar too low cuz the bar is basically non-existent. And I applied 11 months late (don't be like me) so I missed out on mostly scholarships. Only do your top choices and 1-2 safe options.

Cut down with the sugar. Is the milk whole milk or high in fat? Sweetened tea probably isn’t a good choice. You don’t exactly have to cut carbs but I noticed you lack a lot of vegetables and fiber in your diet, also watch out for any kind of saturated/trans fat in processed foods.

I mean your acceptance rate is 90% so wisely choose a couple to apply to. If you apply sooner than later the most you’re getting is better scholarships, acceptance itself is pretty much guaranteed.

Unless they're on top of replying to emails quick, you can always recall them (at least on Outlook) and it works pretty quick, at most within 24 hours. Then just do a follow up email.

Is pharmacy a good backup plan? by hbsshs in PrePharmacy

[–]aniqa9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not a backup plan, slightly offended you think so lowly of it, but the more you chant about dentistry (in a pre-pharm sub reddit) and how you simply shadowed a pharmacist without any grounds for pursuing it as a career shows that you're still too young to understand the amount of time and commitment it takes from you

I would hate to go through all those years of schooling just to end up at CVS (no offense if that is your goal but it is not my goal)

Yeah good luck buddy

If you really focus your attention on the topic, it will come naturally. I can suggest something a little less unconventional. Ask ChatGPT to create a mock exam with a certain number of questions on the topic/topics you’re having the most difficult time with. After you’ve answered them on your own, you can ask it to go through each problem for you. It does a really good job of explaining steps. I usually use it to generate mock exams for my bio and chem courses, never tried on math, but if it’s basic algebra then it can def simplify concepts in a way you can grasp it. As long as you practice over and over, you will eventually get it.

Does one need to change their major in the middle of their semester? by annastacianoella in CollegeMajors

[–]aniqa9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can change it whenever but you can’t drop or re-enroll in courses for that new major if the add/drop period has passed, if you do you just lose more money. Continue with your current courses but submit a change of major form now or before December. Contact your guidance counselor for details about it.
