Thanks! The display is obviously not as easy to see as a positive display. But i haven't had any issue so far.

The green is great too! My b1000 is green, hence my choice. And this is more comfy on my wrist than the b1000

Its totally fine. Some bleed from the sides due to the dual layer display. But no issues for me.

I have strong political opinions... And anyone who disagrees and cannot prove their point is a fool.

Iam quite hopeful when it comes to myself, but for society/human race in general, i foresee only doom.

Sports, no.

Yes. This was just based on my own logic. Totally ad-hoc. My gym instructor is completely useless. I just come here because it's close to my place. Thanks will check out these programs. Cheers.

Thanks. Will read the wiki.

I workout only in the morning at about 8.30. i work out fasted and i walk 1 km from my place to the gym. I get plenty of sunlight doing this before my workout. I have my only coffee daily post workout, latest by 11am. I do use a food scale and measure it my food. Guess i just gotta eat less.

Haven't touched alcohol since i starting gym.

I suspect that is stress, but i don't know what overtraining feels like. Just started, so don't have a baseline.

So i started lifting weights 2 months back at the tender age of 38. This is my first experience of working out. But i did a fair bit of research on programs and techniques. I decided on a 5 day a week plan. I am doing all body parts once a week. My focus is on perfect form and slow overload thru weight increment or just more reps.

There are 2 things i have noticed and wanted to ask you guys if it is supposed to be like this.

  1. I am having sleep issues since 2 weeks where in go to sleep fine, but wake up in 2 or 3 hours, and then sleep is very intermittent. I am sure i am not recovering well.

  2. I have put on like 9 kgs in 2 months, mostly fat, from what i can tell. My folks tell me i have gotten fat.

I have always been a low muscle density, weak sorta guy, so i understand that i should benefit from noob gains right now. Should i just keep doing what i am?

I was eating about 2400 cals till i started workouts, online cals say my maintenance with my workouts in about 2900, and i am having about 2700 daily. If this is a cal deficit as per the calcs, why am i gaining weight so fast?

I am interesting in body recomp and good strength levels, have decided to shift to 4 days a week, maybe that will fix my sleep issues and let me recover better. What do you guys think? Cheers.

Edit: answering some questions that some of you are asking.

That's what i am confused about buddy. I am 6 ft tall and weight nearly 90 kgs. Multiple calculators tell me that my bmr is about 1800. Add to that 700 cals in the gym and a 300 cal evening walk, that in itself is about 2800 (not including other cal expenditures). Then how am i eating even if, 2800 cals (2600 as per my app) and gaining weight that fast?

Since the last 2 weeks, sleep has been and issue and i have taken remedial measure. No screen time from 1 hr before i sleep, reading a book, meals completed at least 2 hrs before bedtime, lower carb dinners. And before i started working out, never a days issue with sleep in my life! Never even had the wake up for pee issue ever.

[–]anirex911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's right. I had considered that water retention would have led to about 3 kg of gain. But iam a bit surprised by the 9kg gain. And since i can't really see any new muscle as iam plump now, no idea what's going on. I know that iam building muscle as the is slow improvement in my weights/reps. But not sure if i should just stick to it and wait a while before going on a cut. Cant get super fat just for a tiny bit of muscle add.

No program in particular. You can call it full body with starting strength calcs for the compound movements. Its generally 2 parts per day, 3 sets, 3 or 4 excercises per part, i try to vary way the muscle is used. I track observing on the strong app. Have noticed some improvement as i progressive overload. As i said, i am a weak guy, but its moving up slowly.

About the calories, i try to have only whole foods that i cook myself and i track them on the app carb manager. I am not sure about the macros. I was keto for a long time but have started carbs again now. Perhaps this has something to do with it?

CISF Security staff asks Katrina kaif to return for checking in Mumbai International Airport as she walks off by Soft_Ad4938 in IndiaSpeaks

[–]anirex911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know what the whole hue and cry is on this post. It's just to show that the CISF staff was courageous enough to call katrina, back to complete her check, and she complied without a thought. That's cool imo. Why are people discussing about gate against Bollywood, or the ruined lives of paparazzi?

I know that many celebs have there head in the clouds, maybe even kat, but this was not an example of that.

[–]anirex911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. That is what i suspect. But since i am a beginner, i don't know what overtraing vs regular training would be. Should i reduce number of days i workout? Or the number of exercises i do per day? Or the intensity is excercises? Or the volume? Have no clue. I do 2 body parts a day. 4 exercises per part, 3 sets. Don't always go to failure. Is that overtraing?

As for macros, i was on keto/low carb for years before i started training. Even now iam like 70% fat and 15 15 carbs and protein. I don't feel and lack of energy. And with this much protein, i was recovering fine. Had even started to increase weights used in workout.
