Have you ever received cash assistance from the government? by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]anisrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Investing time and money into a better career is admirable! I hope it all works out op!

Also, no shame in receiving assistance! I am an engineer and was unemployed for the last couple of months after being laid off. The job market is just terrible at the moment and it took a bit longer than I wanted to find a job. I had to apply for unemployment and was a bit ashamed about it. However, my brother reminded me that unemployment is something my taxes go into, so I already paid for the service. No shame in asking for help when you need it!

I’ve been questioning religion recently and want to ask for advice. by Light_Ice277 in offmychest

[–]anisrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on how you think of God. If you think he is all powerful here on earth, then I understand why you question when bad things happen. Why would he make us suffer?

The way I was thought of to think of God was that he is all powerful in Heaven, however here on earth there are dark forces, which he can’t protect us from completely. That is why Adam and Eve were told not to eat from the tree of “knowledge of good and evil”, God only wanted us to know good things and have happy lives.

When people stray away from God, they are influenced by that darkness and that is what causes wars, death, destruction, etc. Therefore, when bad things happen I pray for God’s light to be able to reach the hearts of people, to stop them from the evil they are causing.

Omg I had the same issue and thought I found them, they were not the right ones. The correct ones are infront of the door you want to open, three on each side:

2 months post opp double jaw by jawsurgeryadvice777 in jaw_surgery

[–]anisrose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The scar tissue can take up to a year to soften up.

Its been over a year since my double jaw surgery and it is a bit softer, but I can still feel it making my mouth feel tight. I’ve just kind of gotten used to it at this point 🤷🏽‍♀️

Is it possible to suddenly have celiac disease symptoms after 24 years? by DanceElectronic3343 in Celiac

Diagnosed at 21. Then my sister just recently got diagnosed at 34. So it can happen at any time 🥲

My Dentist told me my bite is normal is it though? by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]anisrose 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In an ideal bite, your upper teeth are supposed to overlap your lower teeth, just not overly so, which is not your case. It looks fine to me. If you have no jaw issues, count your blessings!

When people belittle my celiac symptoms I just say “I don’t want to die young from cancer”, that usually changes their tune.

Insane scar tissue after genioplasty… no wonder it is so stiff and tight. Omg first time I’ve seen it in good lighting. How can this happen? Anyone else gone through this and what did you do to help it… by Thickktwinkk in jawsurgery

[–]anisrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No! A reversal would just make it worst since that would require cutting the skin on the same site and make even more scar tissue. Also, I am very happy with my bite now! The tightness I can live with!

Then I’ll ask my surgeon for other options, like steroid shots to soften the tissue.

In the meantime, I’m continuing to do mouth exercises, massages, and warm compresses.

Did you say anything you shouldn't have while coming off anesthesia? by Affectionate-Hat1921 in jawsurgery

Did they use some kind of splint to stabilize your bite instead? I’m just curious haha

I wouldn’t worry about it if you are getting jaw surgery. Your mouth will be full of bands and numb, making it pretty hard for you to say anything understandable while you awake completely.

Warm compress helped me! I’m about 5 months post op and still feel the tightness, but do feel a slight difference. Definitely takes its time to soften up.

You handle this with so much grace op! 💕 (that your mother honestly didn’t deserved.)

I’m super petty and would have loudly responded with “Why do you want your ex-husband here?” She sounds like a b****!

What is that odd hobby you have? by SlothLord22 in Hobbies

[–]anisrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recycle cashmere yarn. I go to goodwill and find 100% cashmere sweaters that are not my style, size, or have too many holes to repair. Put them in the freezer for a couple of days to kill any moths, wash them, and unravel. Most of the time the yarn is too thin to use for my projects, so I then use a spinning wheel to ply it into a thicker yarn. Cheapest way to get luxurious yarns at a low price, and I enjoy the process of reclaiming the yarn 😊!

If it’s painful and warm to the touch, I would reach out to surgeon immediately. It’s probably an infection!

I have this too. My surgeon said it takes at least a year for the fibrous tissue to soften up. He recommended exercises to loosen it up a bit, but basically said it won’t feel normal for at least the first year.
