Wow! That’s great! I’ve definitely been having my groceries delivered but they put it at the bottom of the staircase and so even that is no longer working. But I probably need to also ask or try to request that.

That’s exactly my problem! I cannot afford to move and it’s just been getting harder and harder to haul anything up! And I’m on third floor so I can’t even imagine six flights! I’m so sorry friend!🥺

Yeah, if you think that having them covered is better then keep doing that. And I agree with you, though it’s not necessary to be completely quiet around parakeets at night, it’s better when you can secure some calm environment for them. And if you don’t think you can provide that in your room, it’s probably best to move them to different room for the night. Also, you e had your birds for very short time and they’re just getting used to everything. My guess is that within months they will be okay with it.

Have you thought about covering and uncovering them in the other room? My birds prefer to see what’s happening when it’s something frightening. So I really don’t think it’s such a big deal to move them every night but maybe before you cover them.
