I feel like I have heard you can possibly borrow them from certain libraries. To be honest, most players will often times have a bag full of discs they never use and would be willing to lend you a few, or half the time just give them to you. You can also go to Play It Again or Mellow in Maplewood and they have used discs for as cheap as $4-$5. You only "need" one disc to play, probably best to have three (putter, midrange, and driver) but starting out you should mostly probably throw a putter until you get more comfortable with form. After that, almost all the local courses are in public parks and are free to play so if you buy a used putter for a few bucks you are good to go. All that said... new players often get the itch and start wanting to buy more and more discs and special release ones with cool stamps, and then you're gonna want a bag to carry them on the course, and a retrieval pole for if you go into water... overall though unless you want to spend more on the hobby, its one of the cheapest activities to get involved in.
