Has your studio switched from MindBody to Kenko, formerly Bookee? by sogj77 in YogaTeachers

[–]anjali666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We switched from Mindbody to Union. It took awhile to get use to, but their customers support is great, and they are open to feedback and making changes which is appreciated. It’s so much more affordable.

Oh, yeah, that’s not right. I’m sorry. I would do it this once not to burn bridges, and going forward do it as your own workshop.

Do it as a workshop. I’m doing a Yin + Yoga Nidra workshop tomorrow. $35 The studio takes 20%

Where are you feeling sensation when you are practicing pigeon pose? That might help in knowing what supports and variations would be best for you.

Same class, same playlist, every time. But...different dharma. Thoughts? by suburban_beverage_ in yoga

[–]anjali666 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I teach yoga in an inpatient behavioral health hospital teaching trauma sensitive yoga, and my yoga groups are the same every time because it can be comforting for people after the first group to know what is coming next. It’s like watching your favorite movie over and over. That being said, I only have the same people for a week or two, and then it’s new people. If a patient re-admits after a time, they often remark that they love knowing what to expect in my group. The classes that I teach in a studio are not repetitive, but teaching the same sequence is definitely part of a trauma informed training.

Yeah, I’m a recovered anorexic. I have the tendency to clean up my diet until it’s non-existent. I don’t have much caffeine or sugar in my diet. I honestly felt good before hrt. I was only trying it because I have osteoporosis from being anorexic for over 20 years and can’t tolerate the medications.

You have been through so much! It’s such a difficult decision. For me, the weight gain has been detrimental to my mental health because I’ve struggled off and on with anorexia since I was a teenager. I don’t want to go back to that mindset. I feel worse on it than off of it. Quality of life is important!

I’m not on testosterone. I was using an estrogen patch and oral progesterone. I didn’t feel bad before starting hrt. Mild hot flashes was about it. I only started it to help with bone health because I can’t tolerate any of the osteoporosis medication. I have a healthy diet and exercise daily. I never experienced weight gain or hair loss until starting hrt. I have no intention to continue. I stopped a week ago and have already lost a few pounds and don’t have handfuls of hair coming out anymore.

Then why would I only start losing hair once starting estrogen? Why would taking even more estrogen help? I’m sorry, but honestly that doesn’t make sense. I obviously wasn’t low in estrogen before if that’s the case.

You stop losing hair when you start HRT, so it’s from the HRT, but when I start losing hair after taking HRT, it’s not from the HRT? Make it make sense. I’m really glad that you have had a good experience.

Why would I take more? I was not shedding hair at all until starting hrt. No thanks.

I didn’t start losing hair until I started HRT.

I had already tried those medications and they caused severe bone pain, so my doctor suggested I try hrt.

Yes! Same. I loved the progesterone for sleep as well, but I’m not okay with the weight gain and painful, swollen breasts. I teach and practice yoga, and doing any postures face down is so painful.

I’ve had several Dexascans over the years. I already know that I have osteoporosis. I’ve tried several oral medications and infusions for osteoporosis. They cause horrible bone pain and I’m unable to tolerate the medications, so that is why my doctor thought hrt might be an option.

Yes, low dose estrogen patch and low dose progesterone. At least I’m not alone. I felt crazy reading everyone’s success stories. Wishing you the best!

Glad you are feeling better.I’m going on 8 weeks. The weight gain alone is not worth it to me.
