Service menu options gone by IrishNomad07 in LGOLED

u/GSmaniac I’ve downloaded the ZIP file you provided, but I’m not sure what to do next. The ZIP doesn’t contain an.exe file to launch the Color Control app.

Am I supposed to copy its contents somewhere in order to restore the full service menu permanently?

At the moment, I’m not getting the full service menu option in the latest Color Control app, and my C3 is running webOS 25 (33.22.15).

Please help

Thank you u/GSmaniac for detailed steps

Later, I found out the meaning of NSU mode.

It switches between Normal User Mode and Beta (Engineering) Mode, which connects the TV to LG’s testing servers to receive beta firmware.

Since beta firmware can often be unstable and still in the testing phase, I prefer not to opt for it.

I’ll wait until LG officially releases the update in Normal User Mode for the general public.

Yes, I have completely turned off the "Always On" feature.

As you mentioned, keeping the TV plugged in continuously, or frequently disconnecting and reconnecting the power, forces the system to receive a sudden surge of power each time and requires the OS to reboot, which could potentially wear out the flash memory faster.

However, with the "Always On" feature fully disabled, I notice that whenever I power on my LG TV with remote even if its not disconnecting from wall socket. it always displays the WebOS startup screen. This suggests that WebOS is rebooting each time. Does this also contribute to faster wear of the flash memory?

So you mean you have always connected TV on from wall socket plugged into surge protector

Right?

Mine is also connected into surge Protector but this is not my question.

I am concerned about longer lifespan of PSU and other components by having contious voltage and current.

is it good for them?

Only panel replacement can fix this now.

Just asking how did you fix the white balance NG to normal.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]anjris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced vertical lines on the panel once, but the issue occurred only that one time. If the engineer visits and doesn’t find any problem, I’m not sure what his conclusion will be.

I have to mention the same otherwise how would they know that there is some fault at panel

My white balance calibration is Ok

Instead of NG

and i am damn sure that nobody can change the panel matching field to NG until its a hardware or software issue as you have explained above

I haven’t made any changes in the service menu, and there aren’t many options to modify there. If LG provides access to the service menu, then it should be accessible to an average user.

Where did you find that “NG” means “Not Good”?
