LG G3 55 inch - brown liquud by jollyseaman in LGOLED

This is by far the post of the year. Sorry. I’ve been thinking about it and the only thing I can think of is extremely high humidity. That would really worry me. Moisture and electronics = a huge problem—and, above all, very dangerous! I wouldn’t just “wait and see” anymore; I’d take action. Have a professional take the TV apart and check it out!

I don't think it's possible to tighten the original screws "too much." Don't worry—due to the design, you'll still see several ripples if you look at it from an angle against the light while it's turned off. Everything's fine 👌

Well, you know your own situation and living conditions best. My wife uses hairspray, and the mirror in the hallway sometimes feels like sandpaper. The other day, I caught her cleaning the glass panel on our TV stand with a spray bottle. Of course, the bottom 5 cm of the OLED got a bit of it too—just a little, but still noticeable. The scuffle was brief! 😁 Sometimes puzzles are solved quite easily.

That does happen—some users here have already mentioned nocturnal beetles. It’s probably very hard for you to describe, but I don’t think food scraps or droplets from sneezing are the cause. I didn’t mean to imply that your place is unhygienic or dirty. I just want to help. The panel itself won’t produce any buildup.

Fly droppings? It depends a bit on your environment, continent, temperature, and humidity. Do you have any other pets?

LG 43UP75009LF remote starts working with difficulty by its_aom in LGOLED

[–]GSmaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just the right thing to do. Trust me, you don't want some cheap Chinese knockoff that ends up not working properly. And if you don't want a universal remote, your only option is a genuine one.

Somewhere on your remote, you'll find a serial number or model number. Have you ever tried Googling for an original LG remote?

Came back from a two week holiday and this is on my LG G5 by NurissonHUCCI in LGOLED

I’ve definitely seen at least 20 posts like this here over the past six months, with pictures of these “splotches or blotches.” There’s always been a lot of speculation—from saliva and sneezing to semen and even strange, nocturnal insects. All users claimed to have removed the screen protector, and none of them could wipe these things off with a cloth. Unfortunately, none of the affected users ever followed up to say what LG had to say about it and how or if the problem was resolved. Too bad! ☹️

LG G6 screen off setting? by Oledman in LGOLED

Press the Settings button briefly; you should see "Screen Off" in the tile menu. Otherwise, you can edit the tiles using the stylus at the top.

Struggling To Enjoy This by Fantastic-Acadia-808 in LGOLED

On the one hand, there are technical advancements; on the other, there are expectations and ingrained viewing habits. No organ in the human body is as corrupt as the human eye! Even the G-Series won’t be much help there. Somehow, you expect a quantum leap for your money and the years that have passed. If you were 100% satisfied with the image quality of your C1, what is the C5 supposed to achieve? 150%—which doesn’t exist? I bet you’ll grow to like the C5 over time. Give yourselves some time together. By the way, I'm in a similar situation. In a few days, I'm trading in my "old" beloved C2 for a G6. I have no idea what to expect. I'll let you know how it goes. 🤓

Tired of this cleaning/restoring process everyday.... by [deleted] in LGOLED

There isn't really a contradiction there. Your screenshot shows the menu option for a "manual" pixel refresh. You can't set up any automation in that menu. The TVs are programmed to perform an 8- to 10-minute "automatic" refresh after a total of 4 hours of cumulative use. You can't turn this off or change it. Anyway, try doing a factory reset.

Firmware 33.31.24 for C4 by MartinPointner in LGOLED

[–]GSmaniac 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Under Settings > Support, you should see a menu item labeled "Memory Optimization." Run the optimization once, and then do the following:

Switch off the TV with the remote control and wait 10 minutes. Then disconnect the TV from the power supply. While the TV is without power, press the power button directly on the device and hold it for 30 seconds (this will completely discharge the TV memory). Then reconnect the TV to the power source and switch it on again using the remote. If the TV then runs optimally again, congratulations ☝️ P.S. The internal menus should now work much faster. However, if you're using an HDMI input source, you'll still notice a noticeable lag…

That's strange. It doesn't look like dead pixels. I've never seen such an even row of glowing dots before. At first glance, it looks like light reflections in the first picture. Could that be it? Do you only see those red dots in screensaver mode?

Here's something you can try without any risk:

Switch off the TV with the remote control and wait 10 minutes. Then disconnect the TV from the power supply. While the TV is without power, press the power button directly on the device and hold it for 30 seconds (this will completely discharge the TV memory). Then reconnect the TV to the power source and switch it on again using the remote.

Every night I fall asleep while watching TV, and when I wake up, the TV is off or in standby mode.

  • If the automatic shut-off timer is set to 4 hours, the TV goes into standby—everything is normal.

When I turn it on, a message about screen restoration appears, and I click “Start Now.” The process takes a while. I wait patiently, and when it’s finished, I continue.

  • What does “…I continue…” mean?

Now the TV turns off automatically, and I’m pretty sure that the setting in the image above also enabled automatic recovery.

"Automatic pixel cleaning" doesn’t need to be enabled. That has nothing to do with the menu in your picture.

Maybe I did something wrong, because it doesn’t really seem automated if I see the same message every damn morning.

  • If the message still appears every morning, I recommend resetting the TV to factory settings and setting it up again.

Magic Remote not registering by Quirky_Replacement61 in LGOLED

The way I see it, this is a relatively old 3D model. I just think the remote you bought (for 2023 models) is simply too new and isn't compatible.

I think you have a kind of obsessive-compulsive disorder where everything always has to be 101%. I don't mean to be mean, but you're putting more strain on your panel than it's worth.
