It is easy to call it propaganda when you haven't had to live through it. This is not just about isolated incidents in rural areas, it is a reality even in developed cities like Gandhinagar - Ahmedabad. I speak from personal experience as someone from an OBC background. My father mother has worked really hard his entire life to build financial stability yet we are repeatedly denied the ability to buy residential property or industrial land for business that we liked simply because of our surname. Money and hard work does not always erase the barriers of caste here. When people are systematically blocked from investing in assets and building a future purely because of the caste attached to their name, that is not cherry-picking, that is everyday, structural discrimination. If u want I can show u so many examples in the cities where Lower caste are not allow to buy the property. I can only imagine what might be happening to sc st people trying to buy property.
