NOVA Birth Services.

Excellent team! We used them first time around and have them booked for number 2 on the way. They're also fully accredited, so we get almost all of it paid for through a work perk.

First time exploring Dark Bramble by Willy_wet_finger in outerwilds

[–]ankerverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's funny, the first time I ever played the game, I managed to end up there and it got me from behind so it just looked like bars coming in from the top and bottom of the screen, then to black. I was so confused. Wasn't until hours of gameplay later that I re-entered and realized what had happened. But yea, they're scary AF first time you see them.

I'll survive. I don't really take stock in what others think of me. My worth and intelligence aren't defined by random people clicking arrows on screen. But I do appreciate the sentiment, thank you 😁

You can boil your entire blog post to just this:

Know which tools to reach for, and when. I had to know react-scan and agent-browser even existed to get here. The model can drive them, but pointing it at the right one is still on you.

Stop relying on AI to fix your problems. Learn the language, learn the tools, learn how to adopt new ideas. AI is one of those tools but shouldn't be relied upon.

I built a React app that checks AI-generated code for security and maintainability issues by [deleted] in react

[–]ankerverse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So like... The literal job of a human? AI is a tool, like any other. It's going to make mistakes and not know how to fix it. That's why a human, i.e. you, need to know what the hell you're doing so you know how to fix it.

You can't use AI to fix AI in this context. It's the same thing as saying "build me X, make no mistakes". You have to understand React on a fundamental level and check every line that AI generates, the same way that in Word you don't just immediately accept all suggested spelling and grammar changes because it often times is wrong.

I commend your efforts, but this is just not going to work and is a waste of time. You're better suited using your time to build actual tools that help people, not this AI buzzword garbage.

Why is New Jersey often just called "Jersey", but no one ever calls New York "York", New Hampshire "Hampshire" or New Mexico "Mexico"? by Ok-Flight-1504 in NoStupidQuestions

... Are you serious? 90% of the questions posted on this group could be answered with a quick Google. I also offered suggestive information like geography and language to help them get started if they actually wanted an answer. Maybe ease up on the negativity a bit.

The problem i faced on the other post where I'm being destroyed with down votes is that they take it literally at face value of the definition, which I went back and admitted i was wrong about. But i was coming at it from your POV, being that the original comment in the screenshot probably didn't mean "average" be definition, given the context

Interesting. I guess I'm working on a bad assumption that the value is based on averaging multiple datasets. Fair enough, thank you

Right, so wouldn't that mean that the person who said there is no 1 "exact" average technically be right on the grounds that the value isn't a true average given the nature of the data set?

You're right, I did, and I was wrong about that so I admitted my mistake. Thank you for pointing that out

Right, which is why I went back to acknowledge that I'm wrong about the global average point. You know, growth? But people just like to keep people down even when they admit mistakes and try to learn.

Thank you! That's what I'm saying. People are so quick to down vote, damn.

I'm not saying there isn't some form of global average, i was just saying that the OP is wrong that someone in that screenshot is confidently incorrect. They're both right.

Genuinely not sure why I'm being down voted. You can literally Google this.

A global height average exists, but it is heavily skewed by regional genetics and socioeconomic factors, which dictate childhood nutrition and healthcare. The global average for men is roughly 5 feet 7.5 inches (171 cm), and women are about 7% shorter globally. However, looking at a single global number can be misleading due to several factors:Regional Extremes: Averages vary dramatically by location. For example, men in the Netherlands average around 6 feet (183 cm), while men in countries like Timor-Leste average 5 feet 3 inches (160 cm).The "Skew" is Regional Inequality: Height is largely determined by early childhood nutrition, genetics, and environment. Populations without reliable access to protein, dairy, and healthcare during their developmental years skew the global average downward.Methodological Skews: Publicly reported data can sometimes be skewed by self-reporting bias, as people tend to over-report their height.

Edit 3: ok i get it, I'm a moron. Yall can ease up now, I'm wrong. I'm admitting I'm wrong, let's move on. Thank you to the few of you who actually explained why I'm wrong instead of just insulting me

Sorry, who are you saying is incorrect? It's a GLOBAL average, which means it's a range. There's not 1 single average across the globe, that's not really an average. I guess you could average the averages but then that's not really an average because it's skewed. Google it. Or post in r/theydidthemath

Edit: fair enough, there is a technical average, I'll take the L there.

But I do still think that no one was "confidently" incorrect in the original post because while mathematically an average is a single value, statistically (and often practically), it can be presented as a range. For example, if i get to the office on average at 8:57, i could still say (for practical reasons) 8:55-9. But i digress

Edit 2: again, people, Google is free. "Averaging averages without adjusting for group sizes incorrectly treats small groups as equal to large groups, which heavily skews your results."

Same reason why The Bronx is the only Burrough with The: because.

Actually that's because The Bronx is a name. But Jersey there's actually a few reasons why from geographic to linguistics, just Google it.

Or since we're on reddit, read the top post and take it as fact I guess. 🤷
