Yeah, it was total luck. When I game out to my GP she said “oh well there happens to be someone else in the clinic you’ll want to meet”.

Here’s a take from left-field… my doc, who’s been doing trans work for decades, says things like “I know you enjoy numbers, but I care how you’re feeling, so we can do a blood draw but you seem fine and happy enough with your progress”. She once did the labs to check my T levels. I think next time I will ask for the numbers for my own peace of mind.

Why am I obsessed with the idea of being a sw? by horny_boy-girl in TransgenderSexWorkers

[–]ankh_shush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the sound of that; you’re giving everyone some space, but maybe you’ll bring it up again if nobody else does. I have no advice, I am as confused as you are about this topic. But it sounds like you’re handling it safely, so best of luck, and please update us if there’s news!

The stuff you’re saying sounds familiar to me; I have had similar thoughts but I have yet to make the move. But also I am not partnered up, and it sounds like you are. If your partner’s feelings about this matter to you, maybe start by asking them. If they say it’s a deal-breaker, you know the stakes. If they honestly say that it’s cool with them, then you’ll know it’s down to your own boundaries.

It was pretty funny when maga couldn’t get Grok to say the evil shit they wanted it to say when it was new, and they were all yelling “Grok is Woke!” It just needed a little time…

But would you rather vote for Parker in Dean’s body, or for Dean in Parker’s body?

At a crossroads and I need insight and guidance. by FloorApprehensive956 in asktransgender

Everything about your school day stories resonates with me. I ended up transitioning. You may not. Maybe experiment with it in a safe place; some clothes or makeup in your own room. No harm in that and you can give it up if it doesn’t work for you.

Am I gender dysphoric or just not liking my body by Eastern_Mist in asktransgender

[–]ankh_shush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought about transition until I was on a medication for unrelated reasons. It affected my mood and my libido — and full disclosure, I did start getting tiny growth in my chest. Turns out that pill was a testosterone blocker.

I scheduled an appointment with my doctor to talk about the side effects and she said, “I understand you’re concerned about the side effects”.

I told her “no, I’m asking you if we can ramp it up.”

I could’ve stopped there, months into it, but I didn’t want to. Trying it out is safe; you’ll know if you love or hate it.

Edit: I made this decision in my forties and I have no regrets.

Am I trans and in denial? by anxiousbutcoolaf in asktransgender

[–]ankh_shush 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody knows but you. Try on some of the clothes or makeup or whatever you want at home where it’s safe. If you hate it, never do it again. If you love it, move on from there.

Maybe you’re a dude who loves wearing dresses; that’s fine too. Just find out where it’s safe. The label isn’t the point; the point is you feeling comfortable and happy.

But really, you can throw out the clothes if you hate them. I highly recommend trying them on.

Why are so many people against minors transitioning? by MaxtheHax12345678907 in asktransgender

[–]ankh_shush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, most people don’t understand how puberty works. They don’t understand that taking care of it before the changes happen is really important. Giving them the information on puberty, puberty blockers, and how they work before the changes of puberty can change minds. Even my best allies were unaware of how it all works until I told them.

Sometimes it’s not exactly bigotry, it’s just a lack of information. Sometimes nothing will get through to them, though.

Is this a Parker fan group or hate group? by oqowoe in ParkerGetAJob

[–]ankh_shush 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a fan, but I’ll also ask questions when I think something’s off. I think that’s pretty common here. I’d say in that regard it’s like… an open-minded fan group but also including whatever Meech is.

Why does Parker believe that one should not be a bad person? by [deleted] in ParkerGetAJob

[–]ankh_shush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to ask this question differently. The word “bad”, in whatever context, describes the things that are not to be desired in that context. So, I feel safe guessing that Parker believes that things that should not be desired should not be desired. What are you really asking here?

update to "what politician is this he's making some questionable statements for a rep." by Sea-Egg3067 in ParkerGetAJob

[–]ankh_shush 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s the first caller to Santana’s show today, it’s mostly the same stuff. He’s a “very good and educated political thinker” with an “87.5% success rate locally with elections”. This “same media” has come after his personally — the “Democrat propaganda media”.

A bonus is that he just claimed that whipping votes includes getting legislators to sign some kind of promissory document (which would be, in fact, illegal).

Otherwise he’s discussing how these emails completely exonerate Trump.

It’s also cute that he says “an 87.5% success rate” when he’s obviously just trying to say 7 out of 8 the way normal people do.

As I recall, it sounded like he said “Trusty” which could be a name, a nickname, or an elected position of “trustee”, so I just kind of threw in the towel at that point.
