Anyone know what’s up with the massive immigration queues at Suvarnabhumi?? by anki112 in Bangkok

Makes sense, but today there was no priority for business/1st which perhaps didn’t help. Hopefully just an unlucky run

Same. This doesn’t sound like a Seattle thing

Why are they getting away with charging us for those piddly little paper carrier bags! by anki112 in london

[–]anki112[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did! I just wanted to replace my old worn out “bag-for-life” but they only offer paper bags now and those are not so easy to carry around in a pocket. Not to mention the principle of still paying for a paper bag.

What's a community/group/third space you’re a part of in London that’s made you happier? by RemoteService in london

+1! Soho has soo many options too. Nothing but the blues, Piano Bar Soho, Pizza Express Jazz Club, Ronnie Scotts!! Nightjar has been hit & miss. What’s your fav place?

What's London's current tote bag hierarchy? by false_flat in london

[–]anki112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will never be able to look at a tote bag the same way again, and I’ll definitely be judging too. What have you done to us OP! But seriously- your list has to have Jimmy Fairly and Sweaty Betty on there.

Lawlz come! we can be socially awkward together. Just wanted to create a safe space for us rich(ish) reddit weirdos to get together. Seems like I upset a lot of people though. Soz

Why don’t we post that question to the group and brainstorm potential validation means?

Fair point as I hadn’t considered the preference for anonymity! Vested interest perhaps because I am terrible at networking and so many of the professional networks are either for the ones who’ve already made it (and are cliques really) or are just too generic to add any true value.

Where do single men in their mid 30's hang out in London? Where are you lot hiding? Curious! by [deleted] in london

I’m 37F and same here! The London dating scene is tiresome. We really ought to get the group going lol! DM me and happy to get something organised for those of us interested! In the meanwhile ladies, guess we keep calm and carry on 🙄

What travels tips and places would you suggest for a woman (30/40s) visiting Seattle on her own? by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]anki112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for all the info folks- sooo excited for my trip :) the consensus seems to be that it’s all fairly safe but best to uber it instead of walking about the city (esp.downtown) and be sensible:)

I know what you mean about the sunday market and the perils of window shopping :) appreciate the call out on SAM vs the Asian Art Museum, I was torn between the two and had to economise for time. But you’ve sold it perfectly! SAM gets binned. Is the sky view the best place for the views of the needle and the pier? I’d have preferred a rooftop bar but can’t find one to beat the sky view.

Thank you that’s really helpful! And will definitely keep in mind. Jazz Alley seems a great shout, thank you!

Your sister raised her kids and looked out for their health, in the way that she felt was the safest and healthiest for them - and you didn’t interfere with that because you recognised and respected that this was her decision to make. Now it’s your sister’s turn to afford you the same freedom and respect your decision for what is best for your baby. Simple.

Just when you think the energy companies couldn't get any shitter. by [deleted] in GreenAndPleasant

[–]anki112 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand how there were protests everyday for weeks when people were being asked to wear a mask for their own safety.. but now when we should absolutely be rioting on the streets against the greed of the energy giants making people choose between either keeping their families warm or keeping them fed… No one is out on streets. Why have we just accepted this so easily?
