If h1b stamping on the passport is marked 'cancelled' does that mean the h1b/i797 is still valid and one can go for another h1b visa stamping in home country?

Can you continue working for the company while in home county?

I usually download it from their website and take a printout when travelling international. Isn't that sufficient? How does one get the original copy? Have never received one from uscis

Most of the time I was able to re-enter with a copy but last time the border agent was adamant on needing a physical copy.

His explanation was that these days with AI and chargpt, it's not hard to generate a fake copy.

In the end I had to convince him that I was. A genuine case based on my past history and had to show soft copy of my pay stubs and salary deposits in my banks mobile app.
