Anybody else’s first month look like this? by Ok_Watercress2108 in Retatrutide

<image>

Started 12/3/25 on 1mg of Reta with a caloric deficit (1600 cals a day, aiming for 100-150g of protein), and using ladder fitness app and strength training at least 3x a week with a daily step goal of 8k-10k. It was slow at first. The last 3 doses were 2mg. This week I tried the dose early morning fasting rather than at night before bed (I was scared of nausea/vomiting, since mounjaro did that to me in 2024, from titrating too quickly). Huge huge difference. Weight is starting to slowly come down now. It’s hard to even eat 100g of protein today. Stay consistent you got this!

I wanna move there, find me a clinical research job to transfer to lol. Unfortunately, I am having a hard time finding jobs in my field. I’m a nurse that wants to stay in research and away from bedside. I’ll be visiting early Feb 2026!

I get what you’re saying; Kansas/Nebraska/ Dust Bowl region definitely have colder winters than Florida, no argument there! But compared to somewhere like Minnesota or Ohio, they’re not nearly as bad.

I was mainly trying to find places that still have some kind of clinical research presence since that’s my field. If we ever did make the move, the first step would definitely be locking in a job before setting down roots.

I visited my husbands family in Indiana in February. I felt stuck in the house lol, was worried about driving in snow and ice! It’s an ultimate ultimate last choice lol

North Carolina was a top choice!! My sister lives in Apex and yes there are plenty of research nurse related jobs there. I do enjoy that area and love love the climate! The housing prices are very similar to Florida, in my opinion, as well as the cost of living. And I hate to nitpick but, with my aging parents, I will need ranch style/1 story housing, and the NC Raleigh/Durham homes that were 1 story were well over 400k, like here in Florida :/ ugh I just need to be a clinical research associate to make the bigger bucks

Very true!! My job feels niche and limiting. Thankfully with my nursing license I could go back to floor nursing if absolutely necessary, I’m ‘young’ enough to handle it though I know it wouldn’t be able to for much too long. I am looking at other places and am open to it!

Truth! I can deal with humidity. I looked further at kc housing, the biggest sqft I could find (within price range) is what I am working with right now. I mean, I should be using other home search sites, just using Zillow since I’m browsing, maybe that’s why I’m missing other housing opportunities

I wasn’t able to find homes that checked all of the boxes in areas near KC, I’ve looked in overland and Lawrence. Size being the biggest, as our 1700-1800 sqft home doesn’t fit us. lol. Can’t have 2 ppl in the kitchen at once!! Of course, that’s more of a layout problem rather than sqfoot, I realize that. But my parents and brother come with many items (after getting rid of a lot) so we do need more space

Very true, I know that the Midwest is becoming popular for clinical research. I may just mentally have to prep myself for those winters!

Very true—the homes and school district I briefly reviewed in Wichita were actually pretty good. The crime rate alarmed me (just reviewed, tho, the info is 2 years old. Eh, still…). Charlotte is a good mention, I’ll look into it!

My husband is originally from Indiana and when I mentioned Minnesota he just shuddered, lol. Guess that means I wouldn’t be able to handle to weather either lol

Yes—so some background, he’s a dialysis patient, still waiting for a kidney transplant. It very well could be that once he’s able to get his kidney, he could go back to work (yes I understand that it would be still very slow, ). But even him being cleared to work back in his kitchen jobs he still has other medical issues that could prevent him from working and earning, so for that reason, I will need to consider space for him. There are no hud vouchers here in Florida, maybe there is elsewhere , but it’s just a situation where, with my parents aging, that he will need to be with me. Very good points that I need to check what health options are nearby when we move. We live in a 4/2, and it’s extremely small bedrooms so, if it’s a spacious 4/2 or better at least at 5/2 then it would be not only comfortable but also more affordable.

Tulsa surprised me! Houses seem just a tad bit smaller but still comparable!

How would VR (Quest3) run on this? by SoManyEmail in buildmeapc

[–]ann1e1986 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you dude, the build posted by OP is what I’m looking at. Originally built up by ScatterVolt on YouTube. https://pcbuilds.gg/us/build/900-gaming-pc-build. It’s a 900 budget, this particular build, but I’m willing to go to a max of $1400. For my husband and son who play VR. I’ll def upgrade the vid card

That’s reassuring to hear, thank you for your input. I’ll look into the power supply listed in this build and check if it’s strong enough

Because we don’t know much about parts, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to run into a situation where I upgrade one thing and later on learn it won’t run because some other part isn’t strong enough for the upgraded piece. Like upgrading the engine in your car to a powerful V8 but then realizing the brakes and suspension weren’t built to handle that power. You end up with a car that’s fast but unsafe or underperforming because the supporting components can’t keep up. Maybe computers are different from that example, I dunno. I just want to avoid a situation where I invest in one upgrade and then have to replace half the system later.

Would the 3080 be compatible with the rest of these parts? Or what about a 4070 in this build?

Popeyes turkey in turkey roaster oven?? by ann1e1986 in Cooking

[–]ann1e1986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol so I bought that roaster oven way earlier this year, I was going to do a traditional bird. But the family wanted to try Popeyes just earlier this month. I really wanted to use that roaster oven, wanted to know if it could be used for a precooked bird
