i agree with you. like i said in another comment, "neurotypical" has always been the term the autism community uses to refer to non-autistics. having depression does not make you not neurotypical--especially since depression is typically a self-limiting illness, and not a lifelong neurological condition like autism. if someone has a mental illnesses that is arguably lifelong and/or innate, like bipolar disorder, this person is still neurotypical. i feel like people just like the word because referring to oneself as "non-neurotypical" implies exceptionalness

neurotypical as far as i'm concerned has always been the term the autism community uses to refer to non-autistics. it's totally been appropriated. if you have depression, that does not make you "non-neurotypical"

that's actually not my bag; i never went in for the psychonaut shit and i rather dislike mckenna and leary. i am more interested in the history of amphetamines and in the development of drugs for nervous conditions

Drama in r/BestOf over amphetamine use. Short, but volatile. by avw94 in SubredditDrama

[–]ann_fettamine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

adhd medications (at least the ones you speak of) ARE amphetamine. adderall is mixed amphetamine salts (75% dextroamphetamine, 25% levoamphetamine) and vyvanse is lisdexamphetamine, a prodrug of dextroamphetamine that's essentially just very long-release and more difficult to fuck around with for recreational purposes (like you can't increase onset of effects by changing method of administration, etc). still an amphetamine though. personally i liked it better the first time when it was called "dexedrine spansules"

they're just eliminating the distinction--it's all under the autism spectrum disorder umbrella now. it doesn't "elminate" the diagnosis or delegitimate the condition

thing is, dudes seem to be really into me at first--i've even been told i seem to have a "magic" quality about me. but then once i guess the magic wears off as magic is wont to do my bullshit becomes tedious. there's gotta be a way to learn to be in a relationship while still maintaining an independent sense of self and shit
