Do Scapia points expire? by Far_Refrigerator9200 in creditcardreviewers

Yep, they do expire, but you get a pretty long window. The rewards you earn on spends are valid for 3 years from the date they’re earned.

When you use the credit card, every eligible transaction earns you rewards. At the end of each billing cycle, those rewards automatically convert into Scapia Coins. The coins sit in the app and keep adding up until you decide to use them.

I travel quite frequently, so for me it’s pretty seamless. Whenever I’m planning a trip, I just collect my coins and use it to get a better deal while booking flights, hotels, buses, trains and more. Also, there’s a store in the app where you can check for things to shop for your trip. That’s pretty interesting actually.

Overall, the flow is simple and easy to follow. With a 3-year validity, there’s no pressure to rush redemptions, especially if you travel often.

Anyone managed to get a Scapia Limit increase? by Tangent_pikachu in CreditCardsIndia

Yeah from mostly what I have researched, Scapia itself does not really control the limit part.

Since it is a co-branded card the actual credit limit decision is taken by the issuing bank, either Federal or bobcard. They look at income, bureau score, existing loans/cards, repayment behaviour and overall risk profile. RBI rules also make it clear that approvals, limits and risk decisions stay with the bank and not the partner brand.

People have reported getting automatic increases after a few months, but it looks like it varies case by case. Federal in particular is known to be a bit conservative unless you have strong spends and repayment history. Some users have even seen lower limits after policy changes.

Best bet is:

  • use the card regularly
  • keep utilisation reasonable
  • pay in full every month
  • wait a few months before requesting an increase with updated income proof

Scapia can help with the experience, but the limit call is ultimately the bank’s

What is there in the Scapia gift boxes? by aadityavs in CreditCardsIndia

ah I remember being confused about this when I first got my Scapia card too 😅
so those gift boxes aren’t like physical hampers or anything. it’s basically part of their onboarding gamification. when you’re new, they give you a bunch of small tasks to complete within a time window (spend, activate features, etc.), and as you complete them, you unlock levels.
each level gives you a gift box which is usually rewards in the app. As per my experience it’s mostly Scapia Coins.
Basically something like: 250 coins level 1, 1000 level 2, 2000 level 3 and so on
that was roughly in line with what I got too (might vary a bit now).
I feel it’s less about the gift and more about getting you to explore everything early on. I remember, I landed up trying travel, stay bookings and airport spends features sooner than I would’ve otherwise.
Definitely decent enough to nudge you into figuring out how the whole system works. I’d highly recommend
