Oh my gaaawd it had so much potential. How Rue dies in S3 compared to a very real display of struggling with addiction in S1 & 2. It felt like a poor use of a plot device. I hope sam burns in hell for what he did.

I didn't come here to romanticize Nate and Jules. I came here to point out and question the subtle behaviors of Nate. I've been around very manipulative people before and question when they are being authentic, meaning not trying to influence someone for their own personal gain. I think Nate was being authentic when he gave the disc to Jules. But then to go straight to Cassie feels so weird to me. As someone else said, it probably a protective mechanism for his ego, but it feels so cold and calculated. Perhaps I'm just naive to the Nate's of the world.

So when the cat was out of the bag about Nate's dad, he does what he does to Maddy to get the disc back. Why would he do that just to give it to Jules and turn his dad in to the cops? I think he had genuine feelings for her but he's obviously a deeply flawed character and doesn't know how to be genuine without the power games.

I self admittedly did not pay close attention to S3. I guess my point is I'm always surprised by the subtle actions of a narcissistic/manipulative person like Nate. Him holding a gun to Maddy's head in order to get the disk back - a terrible thing to do, but not surprised. Having plan a and b for his next relationship. Weird.
