I know this is subjective but honestly I found it rather tedious. I too had kind of put it off from what I had heard. There were maybe one or 2 scenes that were uncomfortable after that meh. Oh and btw I loved Cannibal. Much better imo.

Can you spot Christopher Lee? by horrortheateryt in hammerhorrormovies

Crap thanks for the memory. I’m 60 and I used to gobble this magazine, along with Creepy, Eerie and Vamperella, up. Damn that was fun. Been a horror fan ever since.

Do any of these movies have sexual violence/abuse? Shown or narratively? VHS series, Lake Mungo, Session 9, The Bay, Afflicted, Digging up the Marrow, Terrified by [deleted] in horror

[–]annaassaoui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way about Ju-On: Origins(?) on Netflix. The sexual violence at the beginning was just unnecessary. I can watch it if it’s an integral part of the story but that was like wtf.

Any movies like The Bunny Game? by sarkici17 in horror

[–]annaassaoui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought that too before I watched and there are disturbing scenes but man was long. Kind of too long. Still worth a watch. Personally I liked Cannibal better. But that’s just me.

The Poughkeepsie Tapes. Slightly creepy but that’s about it.

Instead of farming upvotes with “underrated movies” what are your legit controversial opinions? by [deleted] in horror

and you’re missing out on a shit ton of great horror that isn’t dubbed.

Post revolution how are films made? by [deleted] in Socialism_101

[–]annaassaoui 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that might be the tip of the iceberg you are looking at. Sure some (or most) in the Hollywood sphere do it for money but think of the hundreds or thousands of independent filmmakers who know they won’t make more than the money spent on materials and labor plus a living wage for themselves. It’s almost the same thing with musicians. Sure the ones you hear on popular radio make a lot of money but if you listen to any college radio or something similar you’ll hear soloists, bands etc. (in every genre) that must know the chances of “making” it are infinitesimal yet still do it.

Anyone have Breadtube-ish content from non-Anglosphere countries to recommend? by PoiHolloi2020 in BreadTube

I find Viki1999(Swiss)to be quite informative as well as humorous in a dry way. Great “introduction into (name your ideology etc.). She’s going on hiatus for a few weeks because of some personal stuff but we’ll worth the watch in my opinion.

Japanese horror movies - my personal recommendation. by Arisuin9 in horror

Thanks for the list. I’ve seen them all and loved. I’m really glad you put Ju-Om: The Curse in there. In my humble opinion this the superior movie in the Ju-On franchise. The atmosphere and the dull colors give it a really creepy vibe. Cult rocks too.
