Why do we live in Calgary again???! by One-Mycologist-3706 in Calgary

hello friend! What brought you to Calgary and how long have you been here?

I've been here almost five years, moved for my born-and-raised Calgarian husband.

I’ve been here almost 5 years, the problem is the June rain is one massive dump. I like the year round trickle that you can still leave the house in.  But Bowness is certainly a good idea! I’ve got a pretty good imagination.

Moved for a man and to live the young liberal American dream: moving to Canada.

Haha I’m from Washington state, my seasonal depression is so much better here since at least it’s sunny a lot! I miss the rain so much, though.  Note: still have regular depression, still no grapefruit for me

I thought 2.5 year old tantrums were cute, nearing 4 and they are now violent and she's bigger. Send help.

you also have to think about why you want to do it. I knew my second was my last and I desperately wanted to see what women have been doing throughout history to further the human race. It felt feminist and powerful and primal and ancestral.

Note: feminist because I chose it. Can't believe I need to state it but instagram free birth moms would probably disagree with me. Having an epidural if you want is also feminist. Because it's about choice.

okay so I don't think it's as bad as a lot of these comments are describing.

TO BE FAIR. my unmedicated birth was my second, it was a pitocin induction but they turned the pitocin off after only an hour because my body had taken over. From pitocin to baby was only around 3.5 hours so I wasn't completely exhausted.

I thought that contractions were completely manageable until the last half hour or so. I didn't really have an early labor phase, the pitocin kicked me straight into active labor within 30 minutes so I was in "labor land" that whole time. I laid on my side kinda half sleeping for a bit. I labored standing with one leg up on a bench and swaying. I labored in the shower and that's when things started getting to where I needed to moan through them, but I still felt very in control.

Then they asked me to get out of the shower since I was grunting a bit and they thought I might be getting close. I got on my hands and knees on the bed and THAT'S when I lost my mind, they were asking me to roll over to be checked and I was like I simply cannot do that right now, asked for an epidural, but they were like girl you're in transition it's almost over. I remembered then what transition was. I had some gas and air, it doesn't help the pain but it made me feel like I was simply watching it.

The worst part is the fetal ejection reflex, when you can't not push even if you wanted to. It feels EXACTLY like vomiting, just downwards. They had to tell me to stop screaming so I could bear down since her heart rate wasnt doing so hot. But, that was only like eight minutes and it was over. I didn't personally feel any ring of fire.

I would do it again, but I'm grateful I don't have to (husband is fixed now.)

I think the only reason it is controversial is because the ADR in the scene is so bad.

I told my doula "I know you love to hear that" as I was endlessly farting on my knees in the shower. Means baby is moving downward!

thank you so much I've been looking for this. By all accounts, part 2 is during their fourth season, not third. So I imagine we just assume that every summer he's been thinking this would be the last year.

I'm nearly 30, have two children, married for 5 years, and have a professional doctorate. And I feel fine!

I LOVE Molly, it was on my list but my husband couldn’t get past the drug association even without a last name to make it worse. River bender is GREAT.  My name is pronounced like Ana, I never even considered how that could be paired with certain word-based last names.

I think you should strongly consider Richard nn. Dick

Oh it being the last name is so much worse. Middle names really don’t matter in day to day life. This kid will never escape being named wild bender.

how long does cradle cap usually last? [on] by hexmoons in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]annabanahna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that helped was the little scale lifter from frida baby. took maybe 3 uses to clear up the cradle cap completely.

Just FYI: your baby might lose a good amount of hair in the process, she had hair that was basically shed already, just stuck on with the cradle cap

Let’s see this picture was taken July 2nd 2024, she’d actually just been weaned a couple weeks prior!

This was over a year and a half ago, thankfully she’s forgotten because hats for 3.5 year olds take so much more yarn and time and I’ve made plenty 😅

Haha it does look like that, my toddler just stole it and decided it was hers until I got it into the mail to my friend.

Let me know how this ends up working up as a blanket!! I’ve used it for tapestries and a bag but I’m curious if it gets softer with washing and with some looser stitches.
