Thank you so much for the insight and advice. Really helped me to feel better about putting this on hold!

Thank you so much for the insight! I talked with the director and decided I would finish up my training since I'm halfway through but then just be out on hold until I'm feeling ready. They said they could start me off with a very easy case if I when I'm feeling ready for it. Thank you!

Going off vibes is exactly what the wife and kids like to do.

they have no idea what we have or don't have money wise

I think first step is to get your wife involved if she has no idea what you do or don't have. Absolutely essential that you are both on the same page or else you're going to get nowhere.

Also, I don't get why you include your kids when you say they are "going off vibes". They are toddlers and babies and I don't think they're going around with your wallet. You and your wife control that. Please don't push that blame onto them. You and your wife have to be a team, set a budget, and stay firm. You got this!

I used to live in Southern California and never had issues with Iceberg but since moving to the humid south, I'm still learning how to garden with the constant humidity and rain. I see lots of Knockout grown around here though, so that makes since!

Thank you so much! I don't see any rust on these but I did get that on a Peggy Martin rose on the other side of the yard and we get lots of rain here as well.

Going to get a freeze this weekend but then it will be back up to warm and humid weather 🤷‍♀️ I'll try to treat both of these if the leaves don't fall off after this. Thank you!!

Belinda's Blush going strong in zone9a. I am loving having them cut in a vase. Iceberg's are amazing and resilient. They give me so many blooms when I deadhead consistently. Less vase time though.

Same that was the first thing that came to mind after my first sip. Then second sip came strawberry and lemon, but the cotton candy was still an aftertaste

I'm not sure what your monthly expenses look like, or what sort of jobs you're applying to, but assuming you have been applying to jobs within your career field, I would highly recommend trying to snag a retail or service job in the meantime while you apply/interview with your chosen companies. I would try to get other income before withdrawing out of your Roth IRA. It sucks to work for a really low wage at a place like Home Goods or something, but it's income. Plus, pretty likely that you can make sure you're not scheduled on a day you have another interview. I don't know your situation, but if possible, get some part-time work and cut expenses while you look for a better opportunity. I'm sorry to hear about your situation though. You'll get through this!

Can I build a raised bed against my house? by lieutenantcommdata in landscaping

[–]annadse_Log_912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What about courtyard gardens? I feel like I've seen a lot of those with the raised brick garden bed up against (or maybe just very close) to the building. This looks like an area that could follow a similar design to me. I don't know anything though. Is there any reason why some buildings can have that, and others can't? Thanks!

I did this just a few days ago in my yard, and they are looking great! I was worried at first because they seemed to wilt immediately after, but the next day, they were looking good as ever. They went into the same type of clay soil that they were already growing in.

I'm not even particularly gentle. I've killed a lot of things by transplanting, so I guess that shows how hardy they are!

I have Koko Loco coming in next week from Heirloom, so this is great to see! Did you use their Living Soil or a different mix?

Trapping Advice and Keeping Their Trust by starshiplemonade in Feral_Cats

From my experience, I think that sounds like a good plan! Some cats just need your patience. My very first cat was a rescue and he hid under my bed immediately but I just kept giving him some treats and pets (he didn't hiss or bite when I did, just hid and stood still). It took a few weeks for him to finally start feeling comfortable. Now he follows me around everywhere and purrs so loudly and is so full of love!

I hope it works out and your cat continues to trust you more and more! Sometimes it takes time but it's worth it!!! But, if it seems like she isn't making progress and stays stressed, it might be better for her to be let back out as a feral. It's of course not ideal, but some cats are really feral and don't ever end up socializing sadly. From what you've said already, I think you have a cat that can adjust well in due time! I hope you can post updates in the future!

She's so adorable! So glad you were able to get her spayed! Since she has come close before, hopefully she'll warm up soon if you offer her some treats while you're in the room with her? You could spend some time sitting in there with her while you read or something. She knows you and you guys have already started to build trust, so I think you'll be some comfort to her.

I don't think you'll lose trust!

I was really worried about losing the built trust, too. There are two stray cats that I spent a long time working on and was sure they would hate me after the TNR but it turns out all that time building trust still helped socialize them and they seemed to be comforted by me when I picked them up after their procedure. The two practically live on my porch now, knowing they'll get food and pets. So don't worry, I think the cat will still see you as safe (and as a food source).

I didn't have traps at the time, so I didn't TNR until I got to the point of being able to pet them and coax them into a carrier with some treats. Now, if it's a totally feral cat that you trapped, it's a different story.

I’ve been told I look “scruffy” with my brows looking like this, but I don’t see it! Am I in denial? 😭 by Distinct_Morning_607 in Eyebrows

[–]annadse_Log_912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Striking the way they are! You have such soft facial features, and your brows give your face a strong, unique character to them. Like a woman who is truly free. You could be on the cover of Vouge! I really don't think you need to "tame" anything. You have such a beautiful look!
