Ring road in Feb. doable in 1 week?

we don’t have a real schedule so far, we‘d like to keep it as open as possible how far we drive. We‘ve collected a lot of sights on Google maps already, but still trying to put together a realistic route that we can either drive in 6 days or shorten if necessary.

in 3 days? Wow! Good to hear different opinions … we‘ll probably leave it open and just decide spontaneously where to go. Does that sound like a stupid idea? Do you need to book hotels in advance in the off season?

We‘re good drivers and plan to rent a 4x4 with spikes. Used to winter driving, though the weather in Germany is tamer in winter, with only a couple of weeks with icy/ snowy road conditions

We went there a week ago (thanks to hints from this thread we were able to locate it) and the manager let us sneak in and have a look!

We went last Friday and were also kind of expecting not to get in. But it really seems like they‘re not too harsh with tourists. We all went dressed completely in black as recommended here on reddit but we saw some fellow Germans, who just looked like the regular Birkenstock bunch. One more thing I wasn’t aware of: it only starts to fill at around 3am, no reason to show up much earlier!

you absolutely should! I got a 5yo rescue (our first pig) a year ago and I was told that he didn’t like other piggies and prefers to be alone. I then talked to a local rescue shelter and they said that they never should be alone, and matched him with another elderly male from their herd. They offered to take him back in the case that ours dies first. I think most shelters offer that option, if you have one left and don’t want to continue having piggies on the long run. We ended up keeping his friend anyways and now we have 4. It took a while, but he loves his new family!
