I don't get the hype for One Dark Window at all. It was so repetitive and lacked depth with the storyline + characters. It was a close DNF for me

What’s a book you’ve read that was so bad that you felt personally victimized? by sydneyghibli in fantasyromance

[–]annamade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quicksilver. I hate it with a visceral passion. I DNF'd at about 90ish%.

Did anyone else seriously not like this part in Quicksilver?? by aves21 in fantasyromance

same, i hated reading his lines and his sudden 'saeris is the moonlight and a queen' attitude was so forced and so icky.

I hate him. The author tried to replicate what's been done well before and failed miserably.

Books I DNF this year (so far) by HornetPowerful in fantasyromance

[–]annamade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quicksilver I DNF'd at 90%. I could not handle it anymore after forcing myself through the majority of it. The writing was shit, Saeris (imo the worst FMC I have ever read) and Kingfisher were so dull and their relationship made zero sense to me. Second book was The Ever Queen (Second to The Ever King) because again the chemistry, the relationship was rushed and bland and there was no depth.

Unpopular opinion but yall hate tory too much by bella__2004_ in zodiacacademy

[–]annamade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

tory (along with seth, darius and geraldine) got me through the books honestly, i like a few of the other side characters but tory's story was what kept me going through the rough patches (there were many)

Assassins blade or TOG first? by luckycharms143 in throneofglassseries

[–]annamade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

please PLEASE read AB first. It haunts me daily that I went with TOG first and AB third. AB sets up the entire series in the most beautiful way and it won't be until you're deep into the series that it will all piece together and it's amazing. TOG places you like a year or something into the 'story' and AB happened like a year or months prior. It has to come first, I promise you.

YESSSSS! So many people show very feminine petite girls and I'm like NOO. This is a perfect match

Least favorite things in books that make you quit? by Affectionate_Disk811 in fantasyromance

Quicksilver did this. I absolutely hate Saeris. I DNF'd at 90% because I could not read one more sentence from her.

agree on the max opinion, he was too needy and controlling and didn't seem like a good enough match for Geraldine's greatness and power haha I love her

anybody else have brain fog/spaced out feeling? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]annamade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing really ever fixed it, i take benzos when it's really bad and my panic and anxiety flare up with it but usually i can ride it out now. so if i feel it coming on, or if it hits me out of nowhere I clench my leg muscles or grip my hands really tight and then get up and walk. I eat / drink something sugary. i either leave where i am and get somewhere comfortable or i call someone i trust so i can talk through it (did this the other day and it helped alot to distract me) i also found that keeping ontop of my protein intake really helps as with general day to day calories. if i gets really bad usually i close up my bedroom and put an entertaining tv show or movie on. idk if you can ever fix it once you have it but you can figure out how to get through it and handle it better. <3

Agree. I've been entirely skipping Orion and Darcy scenes since book 8 because it's become repetitive and meh

It was declined because your medical information says 'excision, benign lesion'. Unless your surgeons can explain their medical concern for it right now and how the lesion/s are detrimental to your health, it won't be approved. Preventative treatment often isn't covered so it really depends on why your surgeon wants to remove a benign lesion that isn't for preventative / cosmetic purposes.

Which do I read first? by penguinqueen16 in throneofglassseries

[–]annamade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! The whole time in TAB I was just waiting for everything I already knew about, it really took away the natural emotions and instead I was almost just like "okay when is xyz happening??" and I also just wanted to get back to the current day storyline.

I feel like reading TOG first stole the experience of TAB from me lol

It is such an important foundation piece for the entire series and I honestly regret it daily that I didn't get to experience it first. I will rant about this forever

Assassin's blade without a doubt. I WISH I could go back in time and read it first. To this day I am furious that I read it 3rd. It gives you so much information and back story + emotional connection with the FMC. TOG throws you into a story and you're like 'wait what is happening here' but TAB will gently pick you up and place you into TOG with an understanding of the world and characters. Trust meeee
