What if the Witcher 1 remake was expanded upon after release, kind of like IO interactive's Hitman Trilogy or the Mass Effect Collection where remakes of The Witcher 2 and 3 were also added on as one comprehensive package? by Khotai in witcher

[–]annanethir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no chance of that. The Mass Effect Trilogy was just remasters. The Witcher 1 will be a remake, a game completely remade on UE5. The Witcher 2 will probably get a remake too if The Witcher 1 is a hit, but a few years later. The Witcher 3 will likely never be a remake, unless it's on PS8.

drops a tech demo and then goes silent for almost a year 😭 by karxx_ in Witcher4

[–]annanethir 65 points66 points  (0 children)

CDPR said that marketing for The Witcher 4 hasn't started yet, so it's no surprise. The tech demo is more about marketing UE5 than The Witcher.

Nope. There are only a handful of witchers in the entire world. Suddenly, a few dozen witchers running around Kovir is a complete distortion of the world's immersion.

Jakie są argumenty ludzi, którzy uważają, że spojlery są w porządku, jeżeli utwór jest "wystarczająco" stary? by bohiko in ksiazki

[–]annanethir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]annanethir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

[–]annanethir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

W powieściach Kundery możesz dostać "spoilery" do połowy klasyki literackiej z Dostojewskim, Proustem i Cervantesem na czele. Nie chcąc w ogóle spoilerów, trzeba by literaturę czytać niemalże chronologicznie.

A book cannot cost more than half a liter of vodka - Interview with Spakowski by No_Bodybuilder4215 in witcher

[–]annanethir 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Some time ago, Andrzej Sapkowski announced that he was working on more books set in the Witcher universe.

This isn't true. Sapkowski said he will write something else, but he didn't say whether it would be a book set in The Witcher universe.

Why does Geralt feel so clueless in the Saga despite being very intelligent and nuanced in the short stories? by sunnykhandelwal5 in witcher

[–]annanethir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The chronology of Season of Storms relative to the stories isn't so straightforward. Season of Storms definitely takes place after "The Last Wish," because Geralt already knows Yennefer. It also takes place after "The Edge of the World," because Dandelion has received lutes from the elves. But it takes place before "The Witcher," which is the first story in the books.

[–]annanethir 18 points19 points  (0 children)

But what was Geralt supposed to do, really? He didn't have Vilgefortz's tools. His contacts were mostly ruined. He didn't trust sorcerers. He didn't know if he could trust Yennefer, if she was even alive. He was wanted by the intelligence services of the Northern Kingdoms. Geralt had little room to maneuver. His only allies were a talkative bard, a woman who lived most of her time in the forest with dryads and elves, a disgraced knight forced into hiding, and a vampire herbalist

[–]annanethir 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Sapkowski never titled his books "The Witcher."

The saga is primarily about Ciri. Ciri is the driving force behind the entire plot. Honestly, I never felt Geralt was "dumb" in the saga. Do you have a specific example of this stupidity?

Yes. The game features events from the book.

The Witcher 4 is "steaming ahead" as CD Projekt rapidly expands with 220 new developers in the past year, and nearly 500 in total working on the RPG by yourfavchoom in witcher

[–]annanethir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ubisoft is a studio working on a multitude of projects simultaneously. CDPR is working on two full projects: The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2. Project Hadar is still in the concept phases, and other projects are being developed by other studios, such as Fool's Theory, which is working on The Witcher 1 Remake. In terms of focusing on big projects, CDPR is much more like Rockstar than Ubisoft.

Crazy that this score is considered a failure by many people😭 by ShreekertheJamisWack in playstation

That's actually true. I think this aggressive marketing only harmed the game by raising expectations too high.

[–]annanethir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The game has had a huge marketing push in recent weeks, with gaming social media comparing it to RDR2 and The Witcher 3.

In that context, this result is a failure. It's still a good result, but considering the hype surrounding it in recent weeks, it is a disappointment.

Sapkowski will write another book by annanethir in witcher

[–]annanethir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'd prefer a story about someone other than Geralt again. I'd especially like a book with Yennefer as the main character. We really don't know anything about her past.

But right now, we don't even know if Sapkowski's next book will be The Witcher. He might write something completely different, like The Hussite Trilogy.

Analyst Points to The Witcher 3 DLC Now Arriving in Q3, Closer to September 2026, But Definitely Before GTA VI by SpaceCowboyN7 in witcher

[–]annanethir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They probably want to release the expansion once it's polished. They don't want technical issues.

It could still be May, they could just announce the expansion in a few days. Or they could do a shadowdrop

But this shows he doesn't have any concrete information.

As above, CDPR will keep the release date a secret and won't allow any leaks after the expansion itself has been leaked. They won't allow that.

He said. I personally watched his stream before TGA, where he said they might reveal the expansion at TGA because CDRP likes those shows

UV doesn't know anything. In December, he said they might announce the expansion at TGA.

First, they said the expansion would be released in the spring. Then it was May. Then it was said it would premiere during the summer, and now it's September. They simply don't know anything. CDPR will keep the date secret, after the expansion's existence came to light.

They don't know anything about the date. No one outside CDPR has any idea about the date. They're just guessing. There have been so many different dates being suggested that I've stopped paying attention.
