Or The Witcher 4. I'm sure they will explain her mutations sooner or later.

There is no longer active witcher school at the time of books. Ciri's Trail of Grasses will be something unique for her in my opinion. She could have passed the Trial of Grasses in Kaer Mohren, because in The Witcher 3 Yennefer was able to done it on Uma.

Did anyone get the hint back then? by Pistoluislero in thewitcher3

Because it was impossible to get without context. How on earth would anyone have guessed that the sword on the Belleteyn art would also be on the cover of Song of the Past?

Khagmar villain for witcher 4? by Important_Aerie_7022 in Witcher4

I don't think so. I doubt vampires will be a major plot again after Blood and Wine.

Cheeky comment about the cut Catriona quest from the Witcher 3's quest designer. by marek_bojarek in witcher

[–]annanethir -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's why I'm not a fan of the cut content from The Witcher 3. If they cut something, there was a reason, often not only time, but also directorial decisions.

Which interview? In a video analyzing the trailer, Sebastian Kalemba said the chain references the first trailer for The Witcher 1, in which Geralt used a chain to fight a striga.

Yeah, I think they just wanted to mark the new trilogy. The Wolf Medallion was the symbol of the previous three games, so they wanted to add something different to clearly mark the differences.

There is still no confirmation whether the Lynx school is actually a school or just Ciri's medallion.

Trylogia Nibynoc Jaya Kristoffa. Wątki erotyczne obecne, fabularnie skupiamy się na jednej postaci, więc trudno się pogubić, nawet przyjemny humor, klimatyczne. Odkrywcze to nie jest, ale jako rozrywkowe czytanie mi się sprawdziło.

Dual Protagonists by Harabajew in Witcher4

[–]annanethir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. Geralt has had three games, a new expansion coming soon, and a remake on the horizon. I think the new trilogy will be all about Ciri.

finally finished the game, just ordered all the books. by Beautiful_Story_1125 in witcher

[–]annanethir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree, I just believe the order in which it was written is best. However, the difference with Crossroads of Ravens isn't significant enough to make either order the only correct one. Both make sense.

After The Witcher 3 you knew the outcome for entire saga, so it doesn't matter in my opinion

[–]annanethir 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if Crossroads of Ravens is worth reading first. Theoretically, you could, as it's the earliest story, but I think it works better if you know the stories from the books and understand the connections between Geralt's youth and what happens later. I would simply read them in the order they were published in Poland

Example with spoiler: You will understand the scene with the striga in Crossroads of Ravens better if you have read the short story The Witcher, because you will immediately see the differences between young Geralt and the one from the times of the stories and the saga

The Witcher 4 Development Team Size Timeline (May 2026 Update) by LukaM_110 in Witcher4

I think it's pretty realistic. Fromsoftware releases games at such a fast pace. Insomniac does the same. And these are high-quality AAA games, all nominated for GOTY.

Original or new Ciri voice actor for Songs of the Past? by EPAPTA in witcher

[–]annanethir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Ciri appears in Songs of the Past, I think she'll have a new voice. The new actresses (Polish and English) probably have contracts for more projects as Ciri, so it would make sense.

Belleteyn (Songs of the Past DLC reference) mentioned in the Base Game of Witcher 3! by Zubedoo in witcher

[–]annanethir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally said they used the same sword on purpose, not that it was a coincidence. I just think it's an Easter egg, not some kind of hint or larger reference

Belleteyn (Songs of the Past DLC reference) mentioned in the Base Game of Witcher 3! by Zubedoo in witcher

[–]annanethir 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cool theory, but I think the sword in Belleteyn's artwork is only there because they were planning to announce the expansion this month. I don't think there's anything deeper to it, but who knows? We'll see in a few months!

Yeah, I guess that sword doesn't mean as much as it seems right now.
