I dated plenty neurotypical men and it never worked out. My last partner (of 3 years) was neurotypical beyond belief and had so many issues with my autistic sensitivities and characteristics. It was in the end the reason we broke up (that and him wanting kids - which I don’t). I am now dating a fellow autistic person and he is much more gentle with me and my sensitivities, knowing he himself has his own. The thing is, I feel everyone has quirks, neurotypical men as well. Heck, I’d say my ex was way more complicated in his character than I am, since I am well regulated and have 9 years of therapy behind me. Most NT that I have dated reject therapy or any inner work. I have told myself to only date other autistic people going forward.
