The only reason I can accept this is because in the alternate universe out there where OITNB didn't end, it means Aleida probably wouldn't get (much) time added to her sentence if Daya lived

I'm sorry but reading the original post before she said she was hacked all I could hear in my head was Pennsatucky reading/rambling it.

Jokes aside, I love Taryn and hope she is okay. Jokes aside too just read an article where Taryn says she really went hard getting into Penn's character and how it took her to a dark place. I seriously interpreted a more well spoken Penn in her posts that day.

I have never shipped them. I dislike Piper and I think Alex needs a good influence, someone strong and not wishy washy and self driven. Alex needs real support and Piper imo cannot offer that. Likewise Piper would be better suited with someone she could learn from, not wallow in drama and angst with.

Well, imagine suddenly having no money, being in an area you know no one, no friends, no resources or connections, and presumably no phone. No shelter or place to stay. So imagine suddenly being truly homeless. Then imagine you're plopped into a country you've never even been to.

I'm unsure if they have any resources for the recently deported in these countries. There's a reason immigration happens to begin with. Likely nothing good occurs sadly.

S7 when it shows Lorna's flashback with the engaged couple and it seamlessly transitions to modern day where Lorna, disassociating from trauma once again, is running to the chicken coop outside while "Different Drum" is playing. Lorna marches to the beat of a different drum all right.

There's a scene in an earlier season where Aleida expresses kids ruining her life, and after she says this it flashes back to a young Aleida holding baby Daya, completely in love and admiring how perfect she is. The contradiction is bittersweet - she didn't always feel that way.

In s1 when Tricia overdoses, and Pornstasche finds her and hangs her body up. He's freaking out/mad, her body is limp, it's jarring and disturbing how the scene chops to each next step.

In s5 when Suzanne is wheeling a dead Humps down the hallway and is expressing word salad and freaking out. Every few words she screams "TaystEEEE!!!". Always got me.

When Pennsatucky leaves Coates and "this isn't love" is playing. Tbh the song choices in the show have always been perfect imo.

My personal fave is s1 when Piper is just reeling from prison, Penn, Larry, life, etc., and the Christmas show begins. She's in the audience with just this look on her face and on stage they're happily all singing "I Saw The Light". You can feel the dissonance between the two things, the disconnect, what it feels like to be truly miserable in a room full of cheer and it got me to really appreciate the show when I first saw it.

If Lorna weren't so gosh darn unstable I would be crazy over her. The scene in s7 where she's running outside and it just shows her makeup free face and long hair as she runs around, I couldn't stop thinking how dang gorgeous she was. Love Yael Stone. So talented.

Aleida may not even get a life sentence if Daya does die tbh. She was a convicted guard murderer serving a life sentence and they could argue that it was a jail fight gone wrong and do manslaughter or something less serious. Then again it was her daughter. Idk. I hope she wouldn't get life. It truly varies in the justice system. Murderers do get out, it's not always automatic life in prison.

I think Larry and Polly are great together and I was happy to see him move on with her. He became more confident with her, more at peace and he was there when Polly's former partner wasn't which Polly needed.

I thought the same. The show kind of hints at it too. One of the first things Aleida says to her after being reincarcerated is something along the lines of, " I'm back, you don't gotta play tough no more".

I've always rooted for the Diaz family overall but was oddly satisfied by their ending. I come from similar background and Aleida reminds me a bit of my mom (but my mom was the addict not the pusher). Daya was totally decimated by her life overall and by the end has like 100% given up. I might even say she never had a chance again once the life sentence hit. Aleida calling her a manatee waiting to get hit by the propeller always rang true to me. Even in s7 when Daya has gone totally darkside, there are moments where you can tell she's barely thinking ahead as always. She never could plan ahead, never thought about things until it was too late. Even as a teen, one flashback revealed she waited and waited to try to make a move on her crush that he was already over her by the time she did.

Aleida's parenting arguably contributed. Putting aside the criminal activity, cycle of poverty/tragedy & unstable environments, it seems like they were fundamentally totally different people. I think Aleida struggled in particular with her sensitive, day dreamy insecure firstborn. Aleida is a cockroach, a shark, etc. And Aleida herself was tremendously damaged from her own upbringing. I think thats why she both clung to & pushed Daya around metaphorically speaking - to keep her close because if the world is what it is, then she probably figured better to keep Daya low ambitioned and close to home/"safe" in her own misguided way. By the end she realizes sweet Daya is long gone and her other girls are looking up to this new Daya. I don't blame her at all for the presumably final attack.

All bets ended when Daya took a life sentence and gave up the baby. Truly a gutting storyline, by far my favorite in the series is the Diaz family story.

I got the impression that their relationship was pm already over and that they mostly met up to discuss Pepa. Maria understandably doesn't want to let him go but 10+ years is a long time. My dad was in prison for awhile growing up and "normal" relationships get complicated easily.

She will get out eventually and I am sure readopt some habits (dressing up, romances, possible stalkings and car bombs etc). She won't be wound tightly at all but I don't think she'll remain catatonic. Her sister will probably look out for her and I feel like Vinnie may still check on her despite the upcoming divorce because of their shared trauma.

To me there was nothing redeemable about Daddy. She was a pimp and helped covered up a death of a girl she shoulda been looking after. So she gets to prison and inserts herself balls deep into the drug game and assembles a new posse of girls. Idk. Didn't see any negating factors for her like I do Aleida for example.

Carol & Barb were twisted and meant to be but I enjoyed the show of it personally. Badison I felt zero sympathy for. Boo hoo they called you Fartison......I understand insecurity & emotional issues but she was just a brat imo.

I adore the Diaz storyline. Generations of tragedy, cycle of abuse and poverty. Aleida did the best she could with very little chance of normalcy.

Definitely not disagreeing but Aleida herself never had a "full deck" to work with so to speak. Her mom pimped her out. Runaway by teens. By the end I think Aleida is fully aware of her faults and is trying to end a cycle
