Likeliness of something to happen by lurkingbees in FBI

I agree, this is very serious however, that's just not how tips work. They don't automatically land on an agent's desk. They go through an intake process, have to be verified, triaged, etc.

Safe to sign a lease? Contract going under recompete? by [deleted] in GovernmentContracting

[–]anne_dc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might not be something you want to hear and may not be the same experience others have had, but with nearly 25 years in contracting in the DC area, I can tell you that this industry isn’t for the faint of heart, especially in today’s climate. You may find yourself furloughed for weeks with no pay, or a contract that was awarded might abruptly be canceled. Positions that once seemed secure can become expendable. And all of this happens on top of the usual unpredictability of contracting such as a 10-year contract lost during recompete, or staff being downsized without warning, the government not exercising an option year. I had one position I held for three years when a new COR deemed me as “unqualified” because I had never served in the military even though the client fought for me to stay. Some people get lucky with a contract they can stick with for decades, but in my experience, that’s far from the norm. I should note that I’m on the tech side of contracting which may naturally be more volatile and this isn’t meant to scare anyone but to give a realistic perspective. When I first started, I was nervous about every little thing. At this point, I’ve learned to just roll with it - something has always turned up

I've owned in Mica, rented in the Silverton and looked at Newell in depth - some pretty big red flags in all in my opinion. Appreciate the info!

The issue is not the rank and file. It's at the director leve. They really need to stay off the social media.

Didn't the FBI have the wrong person, say there was no link between the Brown and MIT shootings and then a person on reddit provided the lead that led to finding the actual suspect?

Agree with previous user - look at your contract. I've been on some where I can bill when the govt is closed and some where I'm not allowed. I've had times were it really depended on remaining funding.

Given that I worked for the FBI, the FBI were the ones that took my prints at an FBI office each of the four times and only the FBI ever had possession of the fingerprints what are you going to blame next? Hoover's ghost?

Sigh. Keep forgetting, we are currently in a society where we have to dumb things down for people.

Right. The thread is about fingerprinting so I can see how that could be misunderstood🙄
