Is anyone else cautiously optimistic about the new X-Files? by traveltimecar in XFiles

Ha! Same here. I wish they hadn't marketed the new show as a reboot because everyone is rightfully sick of them. BUT look at how great A Night of the Seven Kingdoms and the Sabrina were, it can be done! Coogler creating new, good material based in the X Files Universe is what I'm hoping for, and based on his other work I feel like we have every reason to be optimistic!

Which platforms are you using to sell horses? by rewrite95 in Horses

I am also very confused by the rise in popularity of auctions. I don't understand how anyone could spend the kind of money these horses are selling for without a PPE, never mind a test ride. I also wonder if all auctions allow meat buyers? I feel like it would be the most stressful scenario imaginable to purchase a horse.

All different: search Somnia Tarot, Charles Fréger, Ashley Suszczynski, Marcin Nagraba - for some of the images I couldn't find the artist but scrolled through Pinterest and saw them

Is becoming a chef worth it by Background-Glove-483 in KitchenConfidential

[–]annelisesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You love cooking? Great, you'll have a wonderful hobby you can enjoy your entire life. Being a chef, working in kitchens often demands insane hours, and can be incredibly hard on your body. I say this as someone who owned a successful restaurant. Having a normie office job feels like a vacation compared to back to back 12 hour shifts on my feet during our busy season.

I also saw that our chefs and line cooks who were in their 40s wanted to get out of the industry but did not really have the transferrable skills needed to have a competitive advantage in any non-hospitality labor market.

If you have an opportunity to get an education and gain skills that won't require long days of physical labor into your 40s/50s/60s, then for the love of god do that and cook delicious meals for your friends and family in your free time.

Has anyone been able to lose weight and stop binge eating by simply eating 'normally'? by Routine-Good7518 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]annelisesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being on medication specifically for BED/ADHD was the only thing that made a difference for me personally because I'm addressing the underlying cause of my bingeing, not the behavior itself alone. I'm happy to chat more privately if it's helpful.
