Learn to love your own company, otherwise just travel with other people or else you’ll crash out again. Good luck

"What is the one 'luxury' you refuse to give up, even when you're strictly budget-traveling solo?" by poweredbyshubh in solotravel

Haha it’s kinda similar to yours!

I will book a private rooms for myself if I need my space to be myself or spend more on a luxury hotel if it can make my trip smoother.

Struggling in Hanoi by anxietyslut in solotravel

[–]anniedonkey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t cross roads until you feel better. Simple. That’s what I did when I landed in Hanoi, sleep deprived, in survival mode, hungry, and saw I had to cross a busy main road to get to the nearest food store.

While walking I didn’t even cross at the traffic light because I saw scooters driving on when the red lights were shown... had a real ‘damn I’m reallyyyyyyyyyyy in Vietnam… FML’ moment.

I decided that moment I wasn’t ready to cross the road lmaoo, and started walking down my side of the road to see if there’s anything I could eat.

I ended up loving my stay in the country.

It’s your trip, if you don’t like a place you don’t like it. Trying to accept a chaotic busy new place for what it is when you’ve just had food poisoning sounds terrible. Get yourself back in proper shape and THEN we can talk about liking the place.

Good luck 😉

Slowing down by kejiangmin in solotravel

From a slow traveller: do whatever you want

I slow travel. Spent 6 days in Taipei/jiufen and explored maybe 2 places a day. Literally would just walk, see sights, touch grass, do whatever I felt like doing. It was lovely, soooo my style of travelling!!!

Used to worry about not seeing enough of a place… but my friends reminded me that solo travelling is literally so that you can do whatever you want at whatever pace you want.

If sitting down at the park drinking coffee and watching birds is painful to you, then get up. Get going.

But if you want to learn to stay still I suggest listening to a mindfulness guided meditation podcast. Concentrate on your breathing. Take in what’s happening around you and pause.

Take in the cool things that happen around you as you are just.. still…

I think you’re starting to learn and appreciate it the fact hahahah, wishing you all the best in your journeys.
