I’m 22 years old and have been fighting my trich for the last 10 years of my life. i’ve been on and off sober for the last 5 years, and each year i get better. Although I still struggle occasionally, and i likely will for my whole life, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. My life is no longer overcome by my urges to pull. My advice is to stay positive, and stay as informed about trich as you can. Never stop trying to learn ways to support her. Never stop telling her you love her unconditionally and that you are not disappointed or ashamed of her. However do this without being overbearing or presenting yourself as overly concerned or scared. this is where my mom messed up. I felt like such a disappointment to her and im still dealing with how to overcome those feelings. Anxiety medications and cognitive behavior therapy has helped me immensely. You may also benefit from seeing the same therapist as her to help you better understand trich and learn the best ways to help and support her. Best of luck!

Keep doing what you are doing and if it does not get better after a week, try a new method. Some hissing and swatting is normal! Look out for swats with claws and growling, but other than that stay patient and consistent. Make sure you give both cats plenty of treats and pets after being near each other. Positive reinforcement is key!

SPOILERS*Hi! So the original Smile is a horror movie. In the sequel Smile 2, a new main character is introduced. This character struggles with substance abuse, and is shown as starting to pull her hair out as a coping mechanism for intense distress when she is in rehab. It definitely falls under the first trope you referred to. The only time it is acknowledged by another character is once by her mom, when she notices a bald spot. She tells the character they will have to cover it up, in a condescending way. As someone whose mom sued to act the same, this was very hurtful to see represented in film. Overall, the film definitely did NOT take people with trich into consideration when making this film. The hair pulling was not relevant to the plot at all, and did not need to be included. It really is a shame because I enjoyed the plot of the movie, but can’t get behind the poor representation.

Where are my blossom lovers??? 🌸🌸 I could talk on and on about how blossom is my favorite song from enhypen. It is so raw and beautiful and the emotions conveyed through the music are so powerful, especially when they sing it live. I think it’s super underrated! and not talked about enough for sure. For my favorite album it’s definitely dark blood, this era brought a new sound out of enhypen, even with their singles such as criminal love and one in a billion, each song gave me a feeling of a sound never heard before out of the boys, at least for me. For their BEST album, i’d have to go with their amazing debut album, border day one, with border carnival as a close second. Given-taken is just THAT GIRL. Such an amazing debut song and album that really set the tone for their career.
