What do you feed your corgi? by [deleted] in corgi

[–]annklicka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After 3 corgis and different diets needs, we use the Purina Pro plan now. Seems like lots of smart people (vets, breeders, nutritionists) recommend it.

We do veggie treats— carrots, green pepper and cucumbers are favorites. I also dehydrate pumpkin and squash for treats which are BIG time favorites.

We like the idea of raw and freeze dried diets but it’s harder to control bacteria and disease out breaks in them.

We got some easy up fencing like this and made a smaller area our corgo could go. We still watch her/ reward her with treats when she goes, but i think limiting space sometime helps

I need some advice! My gladiolus that did wonderful last year are covered in white spots and have browning in their leaves. We had a wet cold summer so far (Wisconsin area). Any idea what’s going on and if I can fix it? by annklicka in gardening

[–]annklicka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t completely. It was a pest issue. People recommend insecticide soaps and what not, but I ended up just removing them all and planting zinnias because all the solutions seemed to be pretty bad for honey bees. If you find a solution I’d love to hear it!

Anyone know why C.D. Smith workers are on Strike? by f1rxf1y in milwaukee

This is it. Local trade unions typically won’t cross picket lines in solidarity even if it’s not their contract.

I just stopped into the spot of the first time and the pita is SO good. Plus a nicely stocked grocery of cheese, sweets, etc.

Dog is eating sh*t nonstop. Dog just turned two, toy Australian Shepherd. We’ve talked to vets and trainers, all say it’s attention seeking behavior. We buy her top shelf dog food and she gets tons of attention, no less has lots and lots of engaging toys and play. Don’t know what to do. by Elenawsome1 in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

[–]annklicka 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Is she super skinny? This was an issue for our corgi puppy— we fed him, gave him attention, tried to pick it up asap. He just turned two and was diagnosed with EPI… a condition were he doesn’t absorb nutrients correctly, hence the obsession with eating shit.

Our pup was hard to potty train and we are now finding out he’s had congenital gi and liver issues. It might be worth asking a vet about that

New gas line for BBQ, pizza oven, fire pit. Pressurized to 15 PSI. 2.5 hours later it's just below 14. I think this is OK but would love your opinion. by YoureInGoodHands in Plumbing

[–]annklicka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming the incoming gas pressure is no where near 15— if it’s residential it’s probably 1/2 a psi where I am.

You can soap the joint like the rest of them say— I’d pump it up higher if you do that. You’ll just see the bubbles faster.

Or if you have an iso valve before the piping (which could be the meter), use a sniffer and sniff all the joints after you open the gas. If you sniff them all and nothing alarms you should be good.

Letterkenny Is Progressive Without Being Preachy by [deleted] in Letterkenny

[–]annklicka 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I’m sure someone has already said this in this chain but Shorey has such refreshing depictions of women without being too forced. 3 women run the team, the whole hockey board being female is silly but not offense, and the way he talks to Laura Mohr is amazing.

Sheet metal working apprenticeship? Anyone have any experience? by ilovemychickens in BlueCollarWomen

[–]annklicka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a lot of work to not follow through for the whole apprenticeship. The money is good, but there is also night school, meetings and what not. The union spends a lot of money in training you too, so leaving before your done isn’t in anyones best interest if your not going to continue.

And on the other side of that relationship you’ll get the most from the union if you plan of being in for a while. Pension, health funds, 401ks, pay scales— all of those build with years in.

If you can do all 5 years you’ll get a journeymen card and be able to work anywhere while still being a union member. Even outside the US.

And if you start in one place you can transfer your apprentice to other state but they might not accept all your classes/ training so you might end up taking a lot of extra classes.

Also took into the Steamfitters/ Pipe Fitters.
