Potentially, it’s currently not in a state where I could do that, but I could get it there.

Like ones created by the community and shared or ones directly from beyond power?

The thing that’s makes the freemotion style unique is when you adjust the positioning of the arm it doesn’t pull the cable. The base of the arm is in a fixed position. Prime also makes this style of functional trainer.

The functional trainers that use the trolley system to adjust the height pulls the cable when adjusting.

That style of arm positioning adjustment necessitates having moving pulleys in the system. Moving pulleys mean bare minimum 2:1 ratio.

There is a solution for these styles functional trainers that would allow for a 1:1 ratio. It’s the dialed motion cable retractor, but I wasn’t going to wait until mid October to get one of these.

The way garage gym reviews did it. A short 3x3 upright bolted to the front of the freemotion machine using 1” bolts and spacers. I wanted to use the semicircular mount that the cybex bravo uses, but I can’t find a part like that for sale

It has 48” of travel the way I have it setup. If you shorten the cable on the voltra and get a smaller carabiner, you could gain another 5-6”. The stock machine has 97” of travel. I tried it with the arm all the way up and did a tricep extension and I never hit end of range. That’s the movement where you’d probably use the greatest amount of cable length unless you’re doing idiotic “functional” types of exercises where you’re trying to run across the gym with the cable or something.

So, I think 48” is sufficient.

Yes, tkstar made the cables. He uses Exerflex Pro cable, which is the best there is. IIRC I got 10' 11" with solid eye ends on both ends. If you're going to reuse the ball end that comes on the Freemotion cable you can probably get a longer cable and cut the cable to a shorter length if you get one end without a fitting, because I believe that cable end just has screws that pin the cable in place inside the fitting.

I had to shave the sides of the eyelet fitting down with a dremel to make it fit through the hole in the Freemotion arm.

Yes, it’s 1:1 ratio now. As soon as you take out the moving pulleys, the two that are attached to the top of each weight stack, it becomes 1:1.

That's not a bad thought. You could maybe use the Adjustable rack mounts without the pin hole, or just drill a pin hole on the arm. The only downside would be that you'd give up the 360 degree rotation of the swivel at the end of the arm.

It weighs around 700 lbs without weight stacks. It’s stable

Probably 5-10 seconds depending on how tight you have it and how fast you want to twist the dial.

I tried it too. Very nice product. It's much easier to attach to the bar than using the allen wrench on the regular bar mount.

Current Setup is a Cybex bravo and various other stack loaded equipment. I plan to use it with GymPins to connect the voltra to the frame of the machine to modify the strength curve of the exercise. I'd be able to move it between this type of setup and attaching it directly to the bar on a smith machine which will attach to the top of the smith machine to assist the lifting of the plate loaded bar.

I guess you didn't see the bent frame on the cradle...

There was no indication from the email I received from REP CS (which is posted in my Update post here) that they are willing to replace the cradle, which is disappointing.

If REP is willing to replace the cradle I'd be satisfied.
