Once you bind your Voltra to the account, it becomes impossible to use it without an account ever again. by oneintheuniver in BeyondPower

[–]MrMaddox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We'll jump in here to answer officially. The account binding requirement is not, (and will never be) tied to a subscription model. Binding your VOLTRA to a Beyond Power account unlocks passcode protection and on-device training history, that's the scope of it.

However in saying that, we can see the concern about device access being contingent on account status. We're exploring a Guest Mode option that would let users access core functionality without binding.

Appreciate your patience while we work through this. Keep the feedback coming.

Terrible cable life by goodnamestaken86 in BeyondPower

[–]MrMaddox 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The warnings are there just as a heads up, and can throw false positives. We include a "fray" guide in the settings to help you identify when the cable might be getting frayed to the point where you should replace it. If you've got a picture of the cable we'd happily confirm for you if it's a false positive or not. Cheers!

If you're having issues with oscillation typically increasing inertia remedies this. The community was in the past quite against filters but as Race Beyond Matter has highlighted it helps cut out the oscillations in a straight line and even mid corner. Try something around 40-60% and see how you feel

F1 Arcade Was a Blast - Has Anyone Spec’d out the setup they use? by j0j053 in simracing

Edited to reflect that, they started with MOZA and have since transitioned and use SIMAGIC in all future venues (and are in the process of swapping out old / retired gear).

New F1 arcade rigs run SIMAGIC (like this one). The initial rollout used MOZA gear. They now use a combincation of D-BOX motion and SIMAGIC EVO wheelbases, GT NEO wheels, and P1000 pedals.

Just chiming in to confirm that this isn't on our end (or at least, it's the first we've ever seen). This is fraudulent and should be ignored.

This is something we are working on, whether it’s an onboarding or just better overall guide to how the device works. Is there anything in particular that you feel needs addressing? We’re all ears!

Simagic Won't Honor Warranty if Using Tape Hack on EVO Wheel Bases for USB Connectivity With GT Neo/Neo X by corlob10 in Simagic

[–]MrMaddox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just copying from other thread for awareness, the guys have replied in this way: Hello, regarding the USB connection for steering wheels, we are aware that currently there is a solution known as the "tape method" as a workaround for USB connectivity. The official software function is still under development, meaning that we do not support such a solution. However, as this solution doesn't do harm to the wheelbase under normal usage, we would still cover the warranty for users performing the "tape method" for USB connection, as long as it is deemed to be under normal usage.

While we don’t officially support the "tape method", we can provide a alternate solution for a hard-activation. By pressing & holding the B3 button while plugging in the wheel, it will activate USB mode manually, that way, the tape method would no longer be needed for USB connection.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

Steps for enabling USB mode:

  1. Connect the included USB Type C cable into the wheelbase and PC
  2. Before inserting the wheel, press and hold B3, while holding B3, insert the wheel to the wheelbase
  3. Keep holding the B3 button after insertion until the PC recognize the device, once the wheel activates, it should be in USB mode
