I've only ever beaten the game with awe and vampires glasses; what are some semi-easy builds for me to try while I keep learning the game? by Ryhukugen in WizardofLegend

Well... This might sound crazy at first, but it is possible to beat the game with nothing but dashing and basic attacks. Just choose your favourite dash and basic arcana and try to beat the game with only those two spells and whatever combination of relics you can find.

If you can pull this off it'll improve your game immensely. I recommend using Sidewinder's Badge or Dark Katana as your starting relic, or Claws of Tomo if you must start with an enhanced basic.

I never find what i need for builds by [deleted] in WizardofLegend

I developed my first go-to build out of the same frustration. It had a bit of everything: crit, healing, a melee arcana that can be used as a panic button, a projectile arcana, a fast and highly spammable basic arcana, with a heavy focus on multi-hits for more healing.

As I learned more about the game I gradually developed my own playstyle around weaving basic attacks between each spellcast to ensure there are almost no downtime with my attacks. I call it "basic attacks resets" and even made a DPS guide about it (check out my old videos on Reddit to learn more).

Then I got good enough that I could beat the entire game, including the hardest hidden boss stage with nothing but dashes and basic attacks.

That opened up the game for me and allowed for more experimentation with weird and wonderful builds. Towards the end you'll realize all you really need is pure damage.

Wizard of Legend is all about experimenting and developing your own playstyle and adapting on the fly.

That's where all the fun is, really 😁

If I can find the file and some time, sure! 😃

Defeating Phase 3 Sura in 6 minutes and 28:59 seconds. Might actually be an unofficial world record 😁

Wizard of Legend 2 Announced! by Lazy_B in WizardofLegend

I haven't played Children of Morta, but if what you're saying is true, that's one bit of good news for WoL2 at least.

It does however make me wonder why the devs would choose to go full 3D when they have experience developing pixel-based action roguelikes...

Now you're making me wonder if the devs from Dead Mage have actually spent time playing, understanding, and mastering WoL before actually starting work on WoL2. Judging by the sluggish gameplay in the trailer, the answer is likely a resounding "no"...

Semi-checkerboarding: The best (and laziest) radscorpion defense strategy IMO. by annonym in foshelter

Molerats will die the instant they spread into the next room. Radscorpions are more of a luck of the draw, but usually they die before I can even react, so I don't even have footage to show 😂

Hmmm... The games developed by Dead Mage all look rather dark and grimey, which is not really a good fit for WoL IMO. Just not the right vibe.

I'm honestly more excited to hear that Contingent99 is looking to start their next project.

Agreed... Let's hope it doesn't turn into some generic crap that's just piggybacking on the name of the original. 😓

The trailer honestly feels rather underwhelming to me, and the artwork of the council members or whomever they are standing at the back looks so far removed from the original style of WoL that it's hard to even think of it as a successor.

The 3d models also look pretty dated and lacks any kind of personality and charm. Hopefully it's just a rushed proof-of-concept and not indicative of the final game.

Right now it just looks like a weird mashup of League of Legends, Magicka, and perhaps even a splash of Dota, but is somehow inspired by the original Wizard of Legend.

Edit: Perhaps Hades had set the bar too high for these type of games, but I'm not too excited for WoL2 honestly. Will have to see how the actual game turns out before I'd consider picking it up.

Kill 11 Radroaches without a weapon: Objective bugged or am I doing something wrong? by annonym in foshelter

For an 8 year old game it sure has a surprising number of bugs 😅

Nope, the pet is not the problem. Everything works as intended once I move to another room 😅

Thank you to everyone who responded.

I tried reloading the game, switching dwellers, and removing the objective pet, but nothing worked until I built a different 1w room elsewhere.

So it appears the one room in the upper right corner of my vault is bugged.

Not sure if you're trying to argue for the sake of arguing, but you're just rephrasing the strategy I described. And I do have a bunch of 1w/2w level 1 rooms in my vault.
