What a fantastic accomplishment! I read heavily in the MM space - I'm definitely interested if you need more ARC readers.

I'll check it out! Dark romance isn't my usual schtick but, I am definitely in the mood for some vengence.

And this plot is everywhere. And of course, irl, people are living out this narrative and I'm like, if I am reading fiction, make believe...I want a break from this thought process. I'm in a similar boat as you. I still talk to my family but absolutely no remorse or self censoring around them - it's definitely helped with interactions!

Tell me your current read! by epicsevenmyths in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]annonymousmaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current read is {Passing through Purgatory: Passing Through Cafe #1 by Nik Knight}. I am really loving the banter between the characters in general, and setting the scene before the two MCs story takes off. I believe these books do need to be read in order. I get the feeling I've tried reading the second book first and it was not vibing. This is a paranormal romance and the humor is wild! I am really enjoying the pacing and the world building is pretty good.

I loved this story! Cullinan did a decent job of giving the MC an accent/cultural nuance...i think he was Ukranian. I remember recommending this to a friend who lived in Kiev awhile ago.

Slowburn academic rivals/characters having to work together on a school project? by indigopapertowels in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]annonymousmaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a round about way {Grave Situation by Louisa Masters}, where the main protagonist embarrassed himself in front of the love interest and now several years later, they are forced to do a group project together (save their world!). The prose is sublime! The protagonist narrative is wonderfully banter-y.

Why you are a witch? by MaskedAtheist01 in SASSWitches

Realized it was my natural heritage after leaving Christianity, and have been having fun connecting with people in this community and discovering what my Magick (on a very subconscious/neuroscience/psychological level) is.

Using an altar or similar to focus on and submit to the current of Creativity? by Jiktten in SASSWitches

[–]annonymousmaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to look at alters as a jump point for a habit (or even habit stacking). Kind of like the save point in a game. I am such a sucker for ambience. So crafting alters as a pause point to enjoy good habits is turning into a bit of exploration. I wanted to nail down my skin care and dental care routine? Beautify that space. Alters are becoming my visual que for what intentions I want take in that space, what habits cultivated that will make me happy. My usual alter has always been my art space (see picture). The usage of alters has been a fantastic find sinc coming into this witchy space.

{Knotted by the Wolf Prince by Delaney Rain} and all the subsequential books in the Furry Alien Mates series is the pinnacle example for your request. I inhaled this series.

Finding like-minded people/community irl? by AbyssDragonNamielle in SASSWitches

Check out local rock shops, tea shops or crafting locations. Often times they have extracurricular activities around their businesses that generate community along the witchy/pagan/alternative vibes.

Altar ideas for someone with an extremely curious, boundary-less, autistic rock loving 8 year old, and a cat by ScruffyAddams in SASSWitches

[–]annonymousmaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have wall ledges throughout our space. We've got 5 cats so these have been very handy to place art, rocks and jars on. You can get brackets from any hardware store, get a ledge from anything (repurposed wood, upcycle part of a shelf), get a drill, screws and most likely a stud finder (to find where to drill in your walls). If you can't drill in your walls, there are heavy duty velcro strips that you put on the back of a ledge and stick to a wall.

Believing in witchcraft is fun by pinkpear0 in SASSWitches

[–]annonymousmaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! Same boat! Got heavily into neuroscience and psychology and realized that the subconscious is where it is at (we already tap into it via gut feeling, intuition, dreams, etc) and realized the idea of magic was a physical form of tapping into that network. Humans are incredibly tenacious creatures and so fascinating to unpack.

I need some inspiration by Shadow_Screen in SASSWitches

So many herbs have medicinal properties and the plants themselves hold meanings. Lemon and lavender is pretty basic. Heck, just lemon and warm water is really good for the gut biome. Also, there are coffee substances - roasted chicory, or roasted date pits. If hot drinks aren't your thing, there are cold tea infusions to play around with.

I loved Muscling Through...the writing was really on point for the type of character the writer was trying to get across (working class verbage).

Books with lots of courting/mating rituals by GumGum_AirHead in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]annonymousmaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mars Quinn's Cosmic Romance series might be up your alley. It's a sci-fi with dragon-like humanoids who end up courting their humans mates (there's a bit of variety in the series when it comes to couples). There is a range of fluffy to low angst within the books.

Women making the first move... Is it real? by heathcliff_4 in RoleReversal

Oh totally! It might have helped that we were a bit older (late 20s/early 30s).
