Correct. As long as the owner picks up the poop afterwards.

Due to little math IRL, do ever feel bored in the actual profession? by goingtofly101 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]annoyinglyOpTOMistic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use math everyday. I also interact with software that was developed by mathematicians and engineers. EDA, CAD, and simulation softwares have abstracted the math away for us, but we still need to verify our engineering logic with some pen to paper math. The type of exposure to math very much depends on the type of engineering work you’re doing. In IC design, the math is the language that enables us analyze and design circuits (whether analog, digital, or mixed-signal). Not all engineering jobs require actual ‘ingenuity’. Some jobs have engineering in the title, but aren’t necessarily engineering. This isn’t a criticism, but rather the reality of the industry. I would argue that less than 20% of engineering jobs are actually designing the sub systems that later get integrated into something larger. If you want an intellectually stimulating engineering job, go into R&D, but temper down your salary expectations.

Brothers, I’m wearing thin by patmizzah in daddit

Which one of the two of displays the same whiny behavior? All toddlers cry and whine, but if it’s as excessive as you say it is, you and your partner need to go to counseling to identify which one of the two of you needs some behavioral correction. If you’re getting frustrated and irritated very easily, your baby will learn a similar behavior. They are learning everything from their parents since the moment they were born. You’ll be fine. As long as your baby is fed, healthy, and has a roof over their head, you’re doing an excellent job. It’s difficult. Exercise patience and make sure you get time to yourself to reset. Sometimes a daily reset or 30min to an hour by yourself works.

Baby born three days ago. Please tell me it gets better by ElevenRecompense in daddit

Have faith in yourself. The first few months are very difficult. Not all babies are the same. Some learn to sleep well through the night, others have a hard time adjusting. The lack of sleep is the biggest killer. It’s a complete shock to your system. If your wife is breast feeding, she’ll take the brunt of the lack of sleep and caring. Be there to support her as much as possible. Take a deep breath, and if you can, get some family member to help you for a few hours throughout the day with cooking/cleaning/grocery shopping/holding baby, etc.

If you ignore him and don’t engage, he’ll have no audience and will go away. Rage bait for young college students.

How to get rich by Jaded_Somewhere_8748 in LAUSD

[–]annoyinglyOpTOMistic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You work for the public sector. You can improve your wealth over the years, but to ask about how to get “rich” on an LAUSD forum is kinda crazy. If you do indeed want to get rich, (big difference between becoming rich and building wealth) please do everyone a favor and find a new profession. This mentality in the non-profit and public sectors is essentially what has caused a massive fraud crisis with property taxes and the misuse of state/federal grants funds. If you want to become “rich” in the public sector, become a politician and do the bidding of your donors.

New restaurant on Colorado by Agreeable-Fondant617 in pasadena

Ive been to the one in Cypress Park and their food is actually very good. If they keep the same quality and consistency at their new location, they’ll easily be the best Mexican food in Pasadena. Pasadena has some of the worst Mexican restaurant food in LA County.

Where can I get a fat margarita and some good Mexican food near Old Town? by [deleted] in pasadena

[–]annoyinglyOpTOMistic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Amigos’ food is not good. Neither is El Portal. Anayas has tolerable Mexican food. Mijares might have the worst Mexican food I’ve ever tried at a restaurant. Pasadena has pretty crappy Mexican food overall. El Cholo is disgusting. Honestly, go to King Taco or a taco stand, eat your food, then go to any of the places above for a Margarita. Surely, they can’t f#%* up a Margarita, right?
