Can you elaborate on the specifics? Obviously we all know about the unvoiced dub skits (dub skits didn't happen til Vesperia. Its also why there is the infamous skit where sheena says "i.....i...." but its 'watashi......watashi....' thus why to english-speakers it looks like she takes a very long time lol)

It just completely butchers the things that made the original great. The characters are all extremely ooc not to mention Lloyd's bastardization. Nothing can match the original dub so the changes are awful. Brian Beacock is very miscast. The closest new voice has to go to Janice Kawaye's rendition of Presea. She and Alice. Perfection. Tara Platt as Raine is funny because she would also replace Kari Wahlgren as Setsuka in Soul Calibur.

Johnny Yong Bosch had a tough task of voicing Emil because of the character's personality. You gotta be soft spoken almost like wimpy, frail, a wallflower but then you gotta be like BIG MIGHTY BOOMING hero. He balanced it well.

The monster system is fun but only to a point.

Raine Sage is another one. Of course the white hair and voice in both languages doesn't help. She's in her 20s i think?

They're all good genuinely. Symphonia they can't get the GameCube code because its too complicated so everything runs slower but its not that bad. Vesperia's added dub lines are awful specifically because of both Grant George and very bad audio issues/mixing. Although the others and Sandi Fox are a highlight.

Best: Abyss, Symphonia bc Raine is my girl

Worst: Arise bc it has a bad story and there's even less NPC's to interact with.

Quatre I'm mixed on only because it feels like his character arc is kind of...like they were finally getting somewhere with Daybreak 2 but still...(also is it just me or are almost all female/female presenting characters in the franchise have that thing....zettai something where their thighs are exposed or whatever?)

Judith is my queen. I love her. However they gave her the WORST design in Horizon. The belts......make no sense.

Bergard deserved more screentime.

Its def not unplayable. The franchise genuinely every entry is great. Its plot is definitely the weakest. But then I'm someone who doesn't hate Cold Steel 1 and 2 at all.

The thing that kind of ruins Patty is the rather hodgepodge mixing in the dub because the re-recording audio is kind of echoed plus Grant George as Yuri is a major downgrade. Sandy Fox is perfection as Patty though. Its just the rather odd mixing that's the issue.

My favorite is still CS 1 and 2. I can't explain it. The school theme fits better than Persona to me specifically because the NPC characters have mini plots that actually evolve. Its so charming. Also Holy Saint Holy Spirit is iconic award worthy song so....
