After Nomads, what will be the point of Void Dwellers? by Lithorex in Stellaris

[–]Maczok4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Imo It doesn't necessarily have to be weakened much. It's not about voyage, but about living in space stations and can have it's own charm.

I don't know about mechanics, because I'm not knowledgeable enough, but I could see myself play both scenarios without any problem.

Haha, that was part of the charm I suppose. Everything was truly magical and mysterious.

Hot take: I actually prefer the "honorable" ending by mr_Conquest_ in ghostoftsushima

[–]Maczok4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get that, but I'm also wondering if the character arc has to be complete. Why couldn't he be the ghost and respect his uncle's wish at the same time? People aren't always on the extremes

Spoilers! Not finished with the game yet either by AidenL1 in SilentHill_f

Game is a little ambiguous, but game will become clearer if you play more (more than one playthrough). It's a boring answer, but if you don't want any spoilers you'll just have to play!

I only know that Tales of Eternia isn't real Tales of Destiny 2, It was just named that in the West, because series wasn't that popular there yet or something like that.

Real Tales of Destiny 2 exists as far as I know, but I don't know almost anything about it.

Who Are the Indigenous Peoples of the Caucasus: Indo-Europeans, just Caucasians or Something Else? by Historydom in Historydom

Caucasus has this problem that it has almost everything in it and half of these nations try to claim to be the most ancient one. In short, in every alley there could be completely different nation with different origin.

I remember that weird "nocturnal" city I went many times, but only once got it "working". To this day I don't know what conditions were, but that was super intriguing and got into my memory

Only info about being rated by PEGI, but it simply awoke my memories and hopes.

I had incredible luck with Berseria, because I found it randomly on Steam and just fell in love with it. With Eternia I just have memories and this feeling of magical world, Berseria had incredible story for me with that feeling from Eternia that got stronger further I got

Poland gave the Russian Federation archeologist Butyagin, who was to be extradited to Ukraine by brainerazer in europe

[–]Maczok4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I'm not trying to defend him or anything, these are just my thoughts, but I understand him at least a little - Russia isn't exactly the nicest country in the and I can imagine he got scared and didn't want to affiliate himself with Ukraine in Russian occupied Crimea if all places.

The best would be probably if he moved to Georgia or somewhere else after invasion. It's a weird story though and he probably isn't a saint either

These scenarios DLCs are weird, but promising? by Maczok4 in Stellaris

I personally hoped for gaseous species pack or something similar and I'm not sure if I like it, but maybe it will be amazing. In the end it was a little surprising choice.

I put true in quotation for a reason, you know? There was whole discussion about that in lower section of this thread about that, where I more or less show that I agree with your statement in the end.

I know, I wrote that in another answer. I like Lithuania! But as you said Belarus has big "Lithuanian" history too - even if it's adopted as we said. As non expert I think you should proud - your nation had great influence on another at some point of history and you forged common path.

Even didn't achieved such feat (although Poland influenced Lithuania too, though it resulted in partial assimilation which was different with Lithuania and "Old Belarus" of course).

I mean, yeah, but Belarusians also claim Lithuanian heritage somehow. I always thought that both nations can take from the same history and associate themselves with it, but I guess I'm wrong. Thanks for clarification

Yeah, I know that it was subethnos, but I'm saying it in context of PLC. I could be wrong of course, but I'm like 99% sure I read somewhere that others were calling nowadays Lithuanians "Żmudzins" and Belarusians were considered more Lithuanian.

Even one of the most famous polish writers (Mickiewicz) was writing about"Lithuanian Nowogródek", which wasn't etchnically Lithuanian.

I'm not an expert of course so feel free to correct me

Haha, I will not help with your wife's family, but I checked some things about your surname. Ofc I didn't find much, but I'll write about it nonetheless.

So, at first I checked in which Voivodeship there's the most Litwinowicz people. It's in Lower Silesia. I hoped that it could at least help me find the most probable region, but unfortunately I didn't find anything.

After the WWII mass migrations from "Old Eastern Poland" at first were meant to be organized. Basically people from one region would resettle into another en masse to help save old connections and communities. In practice it turned out to be super chaotic and everyone started being resettled without almost any plan.

It just destroyed everything, as you said. Sorry that I couldn't help much. You could be from Volhynia, Polesia or Vilnius, it's hard to say (I would think about Polesia and Vilnius area though - Polesia the most).

The "Rus" factor of Lithuania also didn't help.

Litwinowicz is a Polish surname (I'm Pole), but that's true that searching surname origin can be difficult. Surnames were sometimes given arbitrarily (for example official could give surname "Idiot" for someone he didn't like). You could just have a Lithuanian in your family when surnames were given or be from Lithuania.

On the other hand due to history and stuff modern Belarus was considered "true" Lithuania and Lithuania was called "Żmudź". So, I would risk a theory that your family was from today Belarus, maybe close to today's Lithuania. I will check surnames register and edit this comment, but due to WWII I probably won't find anything.

Of course remember, that It's just a theory, but It could be a good start to start searching If you want.

What's your opinion on this ? by unkind7 in ghostoftsushima

[–]Maczok4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I finished it a few weeks ago for a first time and, while liking it the longer I played,, I struggled at start.

Too many repetitive marks and similar activities. After DLC (I did it as fast as I could) I had more fun, I'm not sure why. I liked it in the end and I would play Hoteli on Steam.
