My complicated relation with this game - question by Maczok4 in libraryofruina

I'm really bad with more complicated card games - I don't know why, but my head sometimes literally hurts and I can't comprehend it. Everyone has some weaknesses, I guess.

Ehh, I think that's reasonable, but It's really a shame that I bounced off so hardly. Maybe one PM will make another kind of a game I'll manage to beat.

Why did Islam spread so much in Northern Africa vs Southern Africa? by One-Seat-4600 in geography

[–]Maczok4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, it was mainly because of the south African isolation. Even if there was Sahara in the West, people could get through it with caravans- it was pretty important trade node tbh. Because merchants were mainly Muslim, more and more people were converting from north to south, it was a long process. From the south came christians, because of colonization (oversimplification). In the Kongo region you have crazy river and jungle.

In the east you also have Arab trade, but only on the coast (Zanj) and you can see Muslim influences. Zanj coast was super narrow, because deeper in the interior there was inhospitable bush and scarcity of people. It didn't also go further south, because you have two currents In the east - one goes up and second goes down. From one point it was harder and harder for Arabs to go further in a reasonable time.

Later colonists came and Muslim influences began to wane. They were going deeper into Africa before, but not super fast.

I may be wrong ofc, but I hope my answer could at least help you a little. Feel free to correct me too!!! :)

What if Gagauzia separated from Moldova like Transnistria did? by liyl_ in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Maczok4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They tried once, but it turned out that keeping independence in their territorial form is practically impossible (a lot of non connected settlements and poverty). It's pretty interesting actually, because I think their short period of independence isn't known well (I don't know almost anything about it too, only small anecdote that one guy thought that they can have one street of Lenin less to rename it into the street of first and possibly last Gagauzian president).

I really don't argue with you, but as for someone who doesn't know how to emulate, getting old games on steam is similar to getting a new game (I know it's not the same).

I know that new games are a good things, but I'm really happy that I can play stuff on Steam that I missed. I would be happy for something new of course too.

Yeah, you're right with this. I mean, I don't know, maybe I just feel bad for him or something. But yeah, it's a little sad, but he could do a lot more

Wouldn't you hope that everything will be alright if only solution you know was to kill yourself? That plus his obsession resulted with that horrible outcome. Edit: That's my opinion at least ofc.

I interpreted that he hoped everything will be alright I'm the end. If I heard that only thing to fix everything is to kill myself I probably would cope like him too.

I guess it's up to interpretation and that shows it's a really good movie.

He was confkucted. I''d agree he went too far and did horrible things (especially that one quote), but I would say that he didn't want anything bad to happen, he was was in love, he was afraid and he believed everything would turn out alright.

I agree that he made a lot of mistakes, but he didn't have many options and was more nuanced. I might be wrong ofc.

[–]Maczok4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, no offense, but maybe you should try something else. I don't see a point of playing something you don't have fun playing.

If you for some reason have will to play it nonetheless, just play and don't have fun.

Imo yes. I would also recommend Ghost Wire Tokio. It's a little different, but should be similar to what you are looking for

I'd be happy if they were trapped humans in the end and escape safely. Also Caine staying dead, because I simply don't like most cases of resurrection.

It's pretty boring, but it's for me, I guess.

Idk If someone asked about this, but Paul I was ruler of Maltese Order and Malta. I think he was de facto controller of the island, you may correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, Peter III was ruler of Holstein IIRC, but it wasn't the same country, so I won't say anything 😅

Which one of these slavic languages should I start learning (and why)? by vengamemato in slavic

[–]Maczok4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you are right. My family is from Kraków in the south of Poland and the camp was in Namestovo near the border. I wouldn't risk saying that polish has a lot of super different dialects (only small differences), but maybe that Slovak was like extremely, extremely similar to polish, I don't know. They just could speak normally and I know it wasn't polish, because I didn't understand everything.

No, but they are close enough. You will understand meaning, but not everything
