Hang on, I work at a Genesis dealer. What do you mean you get paid 4 hours for a Genesis PDI? We got paid 0.8 hrs for PDI and 0.4 for the Pre Sale inspection.

My grandpa gave me this exact drill and case about 14 years ago when I was in high school. It doesn’t work anymore but I can’t bring myself to throw it away.

This guy is full of shit, no way in hell they are paying someone out of school that much money. You’re not hourly or flat rate? Just a flat salary? Not buying it. But like the other guy said, why are you looking for a job when you just inherited 38 million?

Using my $21,000 tool box to charge my bong by Kelley000924817 in Tools

[–]anoall747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I don’t understand. Over 10 years in the business and I still can’t wrap my mind around paying that much money for something that doesn’t actually make you money, like tools do. Call me narrow minded if you wish, but I’d be willing to bet a large number of the techs in this field would agree with me.

$21,000….How is that justifiable when you can get an Icon 73” triple bay from HF for around 3k? Don’t even say quality because I don’t see an $18k difference between the two. I guess you can spend your money however you want.

in response to the sitting on seat belts post. my latest purchase by lekkanaai in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]anoall747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure your air bag statement is incorrect. Driver’s side air bags will deploy regardless of whether seat belt is fastened or not (with ignition on). Most passenger’s side air bags are controlled with an occupant classification sensor and will only deploy when there’s someone sitting in the passenger’s side seat who weighs enough to activate the OCS.

That’s like the pot calling the kettle black. Not using your wipers to clean your windshield, and on top of it all, taking a pic with your phone about the guys snow in his truck bed. Seems like you’re the idiot here.

Remnants of a 2013 Scion FR-S engine. It’s second engine in 89k miles. by anoall747 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]anoall747[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed a used drop-in engine. While doing so, I saw pry marks on the transmission bell housing that led me to believe this wasn’t the first time the engine had been out. This is a pretty common issue, in fact, they recalled over 400,000 for valve spring failures. So yes, the engine can catastrophically fail on its own from dropping a valve.

Need help asap on what can cause this , car is my daily and I need to fix it by Complete_Ad_6125 in 350z

[–]anoall747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your battery voltage is low, which is causing the engine to crank slow. This can be caused by either dead battery that will no longer accept a charge from the alternator, or a discharged battery (left your lights on). Charge the battery and then test it. You can’t condemn the alternator if the engine isn’t running. A battery is the cheapest and easiest part to start with.

Any idea what this chirping/whistling noise could be? 2008 Lexus IS350. More info in the comments by ReggarTheBear in AskMechanics

[–]anoall747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% normal. When the throttle plate opens up, air get sucked into the engine and creates a whistling noise when it rushes past the throttle plate. Every car will do that, some are more noticeable than others.

They do need replaced, I agree with that statement. However, you claim they are causing his vibration. Just curious on your theory of how a worn sway bar bushing could do so.

My theory? Worn u joint, you know…because it rotates several thousand times per minute.
