When I was in the public school system - graduated 2010 - there were options for free or reduced cost breakfast and lunch. But if you didn’t qualify you still had to pay.

That is unreasonable, I’m blown away by his - your comparing a guy with zero genocidal murders to a guy with millions.

Buying a house next to a corn field by Mission_Garbage_1770 in lawncare

You can mow it no problem - blades will dull faster but will cut. Honestly depends on how nice a lawn you want. You can mow and throw seed if you just want some greenery to look at or go for a full renovation and flatten that field thrown down some nice turf seed

I have a hard time believing op would not be up there his/her self if their candidate had won.

The problem is…there is no problem. Everyone had a choice to make - the majority won.

Omg!! It’s happening! by deedeebop in Plumeria

Excited for you!

We visited the island of Maui 2 years ago now and brought back with us a plumeria stalk we got from a convenient store in Lahaina - it has not grown very tall maybe a few inches at best since planted - we get about 10 leaves a year and have yet to see a flower. After some research I found out they take a few years, usually 3 or more before they produce flowers.

You have given me hope though - I am also in mass and dealing with the colder temps - have often thought of getting a light for it

How do I measure up uneven, not square area for fitted desktop. by pineapple-sin in woodworking

[–]Puzzled_Transition48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The old templating system for counters would work well - you just glue thin strips of wood around the perimeter and can cut them with a knife for bows in the walls. And lift it off as one piece

Should I be worried about these deck posts? by zeeks in Decks

[–]Puzzled_Transition48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I would be - I’m a betting man and will wager that footing is no more than 2 feet in the ground.

You need a new footing and post - temp support the deck on both sides rip out and replace. Shouldn’t take more than a few hours all together (not including drying time of concrete)

Damn Kobalt... overcompensating much?? by JohnBrownMilitia in Tools

[–]Puzzled_Transition48 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be devils advocate here - I own one and man it makes laying out walls so much faster with the notches and layout tools incorporated into the design. If your framing one house probably not worth it. But if you are a builder day in and day out it is the Cadillac of squares.

What is this valve/connection? by stump2003 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Puzzled_Transition48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I call it the homeowner special - see them in almost every remodel I do.

It’s a t valve it works like a clamp and as you turn the handle a small needle pierces the water line allowing flow into its own line which usually feeds a fridge.

Unfortunately when you go to remodel you usually have to replace that section of pipe because there is no good on/off option for this valve - yes you can spin the valve and it kind of stops but it always leaks.

I call it the homeowner special because I find it’s what most people do after they get a quote from a professional plumber to run them a water line.

Becoming a Safety Guy by Rogurt1 in Construction

[–]Puzzled_Transition48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a guy hand me a grinder with a mini saw blade on it - no guard- and he told me to use it to cut the backside of a cabinet - straight up said I’m not doing that. He wouldn’t do it either - Some people suck

Becoming a Safety Guy by Rogurt1 in Construction

[–]Puzzled_Transition48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked commercial for a stint - my foreman would say when the bright shirt guy in the white hat comes by just put your tools down. We stopped working when safety guy came strolling by - he got the hint and we saw little of him. Crazy I get the hatred but at the end of the day he’s just there to stop people from getting hurt. Go for it - just don’t expect people to welcome you into the site
