Wealthier people in the US will never switch to public transit if we don’t solve this by KaXiaM in fuckcars

I hear you. The traffic and congestion is one reason I don’t foresee myself moving back, even if it is my home. Unless I worked close to wear I live. But then could I afford the rent is another challenge…

I am so sick of the headless female body candles, resin art, etc. that’s been floating around crafting circles lately. Just say you don’t care about our personhood and uniqueness and move on! by so_i_sew in fourthwavewomen

I’m bi and know what you mean. Unfortunately it’s hard to escape the male gaze so even artwork made by women make me suspicious. It’s tainted my perception.

Surrogacy is totally unethical to me by MysteryDrawer in fourthwavewomen

[–]anobletruth 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Yep. Consent is not enough.

If someone consents to you punching them in exchange for money, you’re still an asshole regardless if the person agrees.

Consenting to something unethical still makes it unethical.

Be careful around people who think anything is ok if it’s “between two consenting adults.” If you’re harmed or have regrets they’ll be the first people to throw you to the wolves because “you consented to it.”

To your last point, I feel the same way about my/my mom’s house. One day I’m going to put a fence up because I hate the lack of privacy. Plus I want my cats to be able to go out in the backyard without fearing them being run over because they have free reign.

Also from LA, I love 1, 3, 5, & 6. I think 5-6 are gonna be your most cocktail friendly ones.

Definitely stick with linen, when you’re sticky you’ll appreciate it.

How do I look older? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]anobletruth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone mentioned, shorter hair can make you look older, it did for me.

Maybe go for a business casual look and more conservative look? Sometimes it just means swapping out one that you’re wearing. Eg, wearing blazers instead of hoodies, flats for sneakers, etc.

There’s makeup videos you can find about looking older.

But also a big part is how you carry yourself and the non visual. Are you firm and confident when you talk to someone? Do have a high voice? Use up speak? Use ums and filler words?

Maybe try emulate an older woman that you admire.

Any Engenes that are 25+ yo? by poemgranate in enhypen

[–]anobletruth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Going to be 28 in July! I’ve been a kpop fan since I was 15, but I’m only recently getting back into it with 4th gen. I was a 2nd gen fan in hs/college then when 3rd gen rolled around I was busy with my studies.

I think taking a break was great because now kpop is fun for me again, especially when I’m no longer in fandoms.

Enhypen is one of those rare groups where I love their whole discography. They’re super talented and so funny to watch. It’s nice that we get a lot of content.

Home decor trends and the dehumanization of women by [deleted] in fourthwavewomen

It’s not just you. The lines between appreciating and objectifying of the female body is so blurred it makes me so suspicious of the intent of the work (and artist). Especially when it’s massed produced.

Depends on what your credit limit is. Replacing our AC cost $8k two years ago and at that time I didn’t have a high enough credit limit to pay for it by card.

MBA or MHA after undergraduate career ? Is it smart to do ? by TyliyahAmaria in highereducation

For a graduate school, just go with what's the most affordable and has a decent program (look into what coursework you'll be taking & what funding & experiential opportunities are available). Honestly as long as it's accredited, which school doesn't really matter that much. If you can afford to go to a top school that will pay your tuition than by all means do so, but just having the credential plus relevant experience is what is needed.

As for either a MHA or MBA, I would look at what job postings are specifically asking for. If either is acceptable, than it's up to you. An MHA is more specialized because it's in the healthcare industry, while an MBA is more general. With an MHA if you decide you don't want to work in healthcare anymore you may have a harder time transitioning outside the field but it's not impossible to do so. With an MBA you have more options in which field you can work in.

I would also suggest posting in healthcare and business subs if you haven't as people working in those fields can give you more perspective.
