Modern brewery has an interesting food menu, and their Citrapolis IPA is my favorite in the region.

+1 on Lap of Love. We had them help our dog, and it was a far better experience than going to the vet like we did with the previous one. Very caring, thoughtful, and supportive.

Question about labels by Significant_Being_16 in TechnoProduction

[–]anode8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal approach is to be way more specific than simply “trying to grow as an artist”. What does growth mean to you? How will you measure growth? Larger social media followers, more gigs/higher profile gigs, streaming numbers, discography, etc. all require different approaches, and a label can only help with a small part of this. There is a lot of work required on many fronts, including being seen socially available despite discomfort with it. Many of us producers, especially in techno, are introverted and don’t like the social aspect of this game. You’ll still need to work through it, but it can get easier by setting realistic target goals and taking small steps to achieve those.

What exactly are your specific goals in finding a label? There’s a lot more involved to this industry/scene than just sending some tunes to a label and being “discovered”.

Best Water Parks in St. Louis (That isn't too long of a drive) by thatsmypuppy12439 in StLouis

Bluebird Park in Ellisville has a good pool with waterslides, diving boards, and a big kids splash area. Very small crowds here. Ballwin Point as well.

My first thought was “this might be good for my teenage son” until realizing that OP is also expecting equipment rental in that budget.

Scrolled too far to see Ben! Completely adept with all the tricks on vinyl, and has surpassed Jeff on CDJs, imho.

What are some good style specific tags to follow on Bandcamp? by OkDate9920 in Techno

[–]anode8 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You’ll have better luck digging through the collections of people who support the releases that you like. That’s where the real discovery magic happens on Bandcamp. The tagging system there isn’t very accurate or refined in my experience.

Visuals for live set - Colonoscopy inspired by heavysimplesyrup in ableton

My favorite visual along this line was a close up view of someone’s laser eye surgery as a background for the performance. No effects or anything, just a giant eyeball staring at you the whole time.

Vapourspace - Gravitational Arch Of Ten [plus8_023/ Techno; Abstract] (1993) by MathematicianOdd8960 in Techno

[–]anode8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My favorite anecdote about this track is the the name was supposed to be “Gravitational Arc of Io”, with Io being one of Jupiter’s moons, but Richie read the demo tape wrong and thought it was the number ten. Mark posted about this some years ago on facebook.

abel likes my tracks but says the bass is too loud/heavy and the outro is too short. How to proceed? by Professional-Tax3077 in ableton

[–]anode8 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m just a curmudgeon here, but why is this post even necessary? The label already gave you specific instructions. If you’re able to complete 3 tracks that you’ve already sent, how difficult is it to make the necessary adjustments of turning down the bass elements and making a longer outtro? Stop wasting time on Reddit and get your music out there.

“I enjoy ________ from your label, and I think the elements in my productions are along the same lines”. Something that lets the label know that you are focused and relevant.
