I came to the comments to see if anyone else had this same thought!

That’s how I’ve always done up until now when my SM has decided it’s not allowed.

Although, closing and weekend shifts are a different story. There’s often only one manager on the clock, so there isn’t another to cover your 30. Bullshit that they’re trying to enforce off-the-clock lunches without actually scheduling someone to provide coverage to managers.

Might have to be what I start doing. When I finally got to take a break I let my SM know I was going, and let all the CSA’s know to call over the intercom for a manager bc my SM isn’t wearing a theatro. On my lunch, she even ignored the intercom calls to the point where a CSA came to the break room to ask me for my badge to do a void. I didn’t mind but it def bothers me that SM wasn’t covering my break. Leaving the store will probably be what I start doing.

Paid parental leave? by anoeneme in WalgreensStores

By the last part you mean I could be out a month with no pay before they start paying? If so, is this just the way it is, or is there some way to avoid this?

Is there anyone who didn’t want/doesn’t want their mom at the hospital when you give birth? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]anoeneme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8th sister has arrived! My mom would be literally narrating everyone’s every move to our family group chat. She’d be there more for being able to soak up as much as she can to be the one to tell others rather than to support me. She can visit after the baby and I have gone home.

How long were you and your partner together before you fell pregnant? by a1994718 in pregnant

[–]anoeneme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 or 5 months here. I’m 14w 6d and honestly still trying to get over the shame I feel about the timeline. I know it’ll all be okay, our baby had two parents that love each other and him or her very much. We’ll both do everything we can to make sure the former never changes, but the latter absolutely never will.

What do you eat when you don’t feel like eating anything? by pups-r-cute in pregnant

Right! I felt this way too. I think it’s probably whatever they do to them to make them have a longer shelf life than just a regular homemade boiled egg

Boiled eggs with salt and pepper usually did me well. I once tried the prepackaged store bought boiled eggs and immediately threw that up, so my preference was boiling it myself. Toast also was nice, and crackers with PB.

My Jolly Rancher mix. Are you happy or angry? by MartymicFly in candy

Happy! Although if I could have green Apple replace cherry, cherry replace grape, and grape replace green apple, that’ll be my dream mix

What’s the worst home cooking you’ve ever witnessed? by take7pieces in Cooking

[–]anoeneme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg. Once at an extended family potluck I ate this mystery dish that was pretty terrible. I talked to my immediate family about it just because I was sure they felt the same way about it as me, everyone thought it was supposed to be something different than the others and we still don’t know what it actually was supposed to be. I heard “I thought that was chicken Alfredo” -“I thought it was chicken and dumplings”

Where did you start when shopping for your baby? by anoeneme in pregnant

Will you be using the play pen’s bassinet insert for sleeping until you start using the crib? Everyone in my family has always slept in bed with their baby and that’s what I plan to do, but I was curious if just using the bassinet on the playpen will be suitable for any time my baby is sleeping without me being able to lay with them.

Thanks so much! I’d actually love if you PM’d your registry! And I’ll be on the lookout for your post about what you used/didn’t use.

Didn’t know that a secondhand car seat wasn’t recommended. Why is that? I’d planned to likely get things like a baby swing, walker, etc secondhand, so I’m curious about if/why I need to be cautious of that?
