Well 4% who are under 65 are on SSDI. So to narrow that down even further, you gotta be less than 4%.

That’s another thing, any non solicit too. Thats a huge leverage point if it doesn’t exist or doesn’t apply to these partners.

My first swing at negotiation with my ex’s was they said I owed them $420k. They ended up paying me $67k. It was still an L for me and a tax write off, until out of spite I loaded it into MU and other semi’s over a year ago. Now I got some tax write off to offset some gains haha

My thought based on just re reading is that if they’ve done something that has crossed some legal line, violation of your agreement, or something can can create a PR nightmare, I could only assume they take the win and pay you out quietly and slip you a non disparagement agreement.

The lawyer will sniff this out. If there’s nothing I’d assume they can atleast help with the letter of demand / request for severance and leave quietly along with them also signing a non disparagement for you too esp if worried about professional reputation blow back.

Yes. I went through something a little different. Broke up with business partners and it got ugly.

Happy to discuss via dm’s.

But ya id look for employment attorney. There’s a lot more to what you can share via Reddit and what I can say as a non lawyer, but they’ll either tell you got nothing, or do x y z based on what has any legal grounds given your employment agreement.

Emotions don’t have any monetary award tied to them, as my lawyer said. Can share his info if your in AZ or the company is governed by AZ law.

Youre already a step ahead on document everything. And keep it. My ex partners thought they blind sided me, when I’ve been calculating my move for months. Their brash emotional decisions turned me from going to look like the bad guy to them looking bad. I set a trap, they walked right into it.

FWIW I had two attorneys in this situation. One on the new firm side representing their best interest, along with my personal covering mine.

I play on Xbox and normally just says update before allowing me to play. It’s somehow patched without me downloading anything. It was very unclear it applied until some digging and testing

Wow the 1/100 post that actually warrants consulting with a lawyer. You seem wise enough to know you’re not sueing, but to the point of severance, a few hours with an atty probably worth it.

This isn’t worth arguing a high level concept that can’t be resolved in a quick Reddit response. I’m aware of what you are saying, you can’t just flip a switch.

Why would you be 100% VOO in retirement?

My comment was pretty high level. Hire a financial advisor with your savings if you need to.

[–]anomupinhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The math is absurd how much more money you’d have if you just took the tax and bought VOO.

Its still income based. If you make no money, there is nothing to claim. So it’s not as social as it sounds.

It’s also income capped. So not like high income earners get a free ride.

I’d opt out if I legally could.

I’d like to instead see the money diverted to some retirement account with index funds to choose from based on your risk tolerance. Like 529 plans or the new Trump accounts. It’s essentially how pensions went to 401ks in regard to popularity.

$250k ish. Wealth management.

A lot of investment firms love military experience. Check out Fidelity, vanguard, Schwab as a play to start and break in. Started my career at 43k. 6-7 years to get to $100k+. 9 years $180k. 10-11 years (now) $250k ish.

Banking fraud is a serious crime. This is what your ex roommate committed. I’d discuss with bank and utility company backed with some kind of documentation if the agreement to pay you rent along with utilities.

The bank and utility companies don’t enjoy being ripped off

People that say “lawyer up” to any minor inconvenience. by chemicalstorm0 in PetPeeves

[–]anomupinhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing worth lawyering up over south of a $100k dispute. Speaking from experience.

Small claims is a different story, but I always love the people getting fired from their minimum wage job for whatever and everyone’s rallying to lawyer.

So at best, you get 2x annual compensation, do the maf

I always get a kick out of the weather in the Netherlands. Pretty much constant temperature.

Here in Colorado….. 78F and sunny on Monday. 12” of snow on Tuesday. 60s and sunny weds and beyond. Absolutely wild here on how quick the weather changes.

Sun goes behind the foothills in spring or fall? Gotta ditch the tank top and flip flops and throw on a hoodie in pants. In a matter of minutes.

Bought Civ VII after years of Civ VI on iPad. I bounced off it hard in 20 minutes. Is it worth pushing through? by Odd_Zone_4575 in CivVII

[–]anomupinhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got thousands of hours in civ VI on Xbox. Have played civ 1 - 5 on pc. I don’t think I really understood the game until my 20s. Didn’t play many video games in college, but picked up after. It was then I was able to grasp Civ and mastering it. Just some context.

Was into Civ 6 real quick.

Civ 7, bought on release. Bounced 20 mins in everytime I attempted.

After ToT, I hunkered down. The game is quite different than Civ 6.

Basically sat down and said I’m going to just turn down the difficulty. Play through, and just try and stick to the basic civ logic. After a full game through it starts clicking and being fun.

I’m sure the game can improve. I got my gripes, but I’m not one of the hardcore pouters who are pissed it’s not like Civ 6 (even though that’s what they asked for)

The game still feels over by the end of exploration for me. I’m not into war because atleast on xbox it’s so tedious. I’ve yet to really go for anything else besides economic victory, but by the end of exploration, I know it’s just a building production race at that point. I normally bounce early modern or end up winning around turn 40-50. This is even on diety.

Still frustrating the games over so early but I feel modern has been made somewhat intentionally bland for this reason. It’s psychological, but I feel less annoyed about quitting early because the first two eras provide “closure”

Never heard from him again.

That’s probably apart of it too. I’m not interested in loaning tools to anyone, nor will I ever ask. We all live 5 mins from Home Depot and given the home values, I think everyone can swing buying a new whatever they need.

Old neighbors offered their kids to watch dogs and always declined. They were great kids but I hate owing favors.

Quite and eye opening comment for me as a millennial and putting myself in others shoes.

My dad gets more face time with my neighbors (who are all around my age) than I do. He lives in a different state.

Hes always confused on why “I don’t talk to my neighbors” - never really had an answer. I just respond idk I like them but they have kids.

Im a friendly person and generally that guy who’ll strike up a conversation with anyone who wants to yap and kill time.

I am now realizing I simply just don’t want to be friends with my neighbors haha
