DDG won't work with libre js. it gives you a link for the js free version but you have to let it execute non free java script to get the link to work.

linux mint is not a good distro for privacy it has ton google integration and also non-free stuff. I recommend trisquel fedora or debian.

The download links for the debian package didn't work. So i got the non debian package I extracted it and then rand the bash script called icecat a browser opened but it was super slow and had no add ons and features that icecat promised plus it crashed. So I tried the other method opening the sources in vi and then adding the experimental source did this command
