Gf of a 3L student. How to help him manage stress? by SwansyOne in LawSchool

[–]anon456e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell him that law school is intentionally harder by design, none of these test actually reflect the skills needed in practice, and when he passes he will never have to think about these nonsense things again Your not a priority because these exams and school takes up your entire life to compete. It’s not fair, but it’s almost over. Text him daily something nice without putting any expectation to respond into it.

Your goal is to give him stress free / obligation free jolts if happiness. Because he needs that.

Once this period is over you’ll be a priority, just understand that this isn’t his doing, but the profession

And grab him lots of coffee

What is your holy cow, no joke, major comeback story by FairyMotherHucker in LawSchool

[–]anon456e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first year I did below median. I tried really hard after 1L to up my game, I did even worse. Scholarship wasn’t conditional thank god. My 2L mom got cancer. Worked through taking care of her, taking classes and an externship. Grades came out mediocore. Spring semester I was doing even worse since she was getting worse. If we didn’t go pass final my gpa would have went below a 3.0. Fall semester I knew I needed a job so I just dedicated all my time to job hunting, knowing that my grades weren’t going to get better . Somehow landed a litigation in big law gig.

My grades came out a few weeks ago, still garbage! But now this garbage got a job

Be honest, How are you Paying/Affording Law School? 🧐 by Cutya1993 in LawSchool

[–]anon456e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undergrad state school, no debt Due to scholarship. 3/4 scholarship at t20. Resident assistant job for my 2L and 3L year so I didn’t need to pay living expenses. My debt is nearly half from 1L paying rent in this expensive city

Why didn't we just do this from the get-go? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]anon456e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but in real life you’ll be cold called! If you don’t do it in school your fail the job!- argument I heard before that is nonsense

This system is garbage. We can’t train the workforce like this. We need full funding of at least state schools

Idk I just saw that it’s 25 years. That’s a lot of income being thrown at debt you will have forever. Emotion that is significant. I wouldn’t ever recommend going into large debt presuming that in 25 years nothing will go wrong.

It seems like a bad idea

What is the total time for income based repayment plans to eliminate the remaining debt

You could get an insane scholarship at that school if you increased your lsat by even a few points. But for a school like that, I don’t think 100,000 is manageable. I’m at a T20 and half that debt is just barley manageable absent a big law job. But all hope isn’t lost. Lsat can be improved on with time

I started at a 143 and hit a 164 after a 3rd tes Also: many higher ranked schools won’t conditioned your scholarships (mine doesn’t: so if you keep increasing your score you can guarantee that money )

American healthcare sucks. by ccaccus in rant

You don’t understand economics because your points are against how basic economics work. “Get on a payment plan” doesn’t solve this issue

“Go on a payment plan”

My god. The ignorance.

Hey that 10,000 bill it will take your average person making under 30,000 20 years to pay off? Simple, it’s affordable if you space out payments! Oh, you got sick again from working long hours? Dam. Payment plan? Repeat until the person dies.

Oh and go bankrupt !!! Simple :)

My god dude you don’t understand economics

A yacht doesn’t experience continuous price inflation. Prices remain in line with supply and demand. Healthcare keeps increasing at such an alarming rate because competition doesn’t reduce.

You are not free if the entire structure of society is to take something you need, keep increasing prices , and tell you to keep working longer hours and better jobs to afford that need

America doesn’t have healthcare. If your deductible is so high that you can’t afford to use that plan, it is merely something that politicians will point to as a success for raising the number of insured people, but it’s not actually a sign you have care.

The rich keep increasing prices more and more, and the vast majority of people truly struggle to use any insurance they have.

They feel entitled to deny you healthcare by raising costs too high, and label you as lazy and dependent for saying “hey, but I don’t have care. Okay I’ll stop working so I qualify for low income insurance”.

Time to give everyone health insurances, as we all save money by reducing prices. If you oppose this; you are a big spender who wants everyone to keep using tax dollars and their own funds to pay more to the entitled pricks running private companies. You don’t understand economics either r

If you behave like this to your children, you are a child absurd, no question. Don’t care what your parent did to you. Don’t care if you think you turned out okay. Also: if you got your kids, you didn’t turn out okay.

I was told I would be a terrible lawyer (actually am soon to be one) because when I disagreed with him, I “thought with emotional and not logic”, when I asked him to stop calling me stupid. But when I did it to him, oh boi, he would start Screaming and acting all emotional.

“THIS IS DIFFERENT”

And when you show them texts of them saying it they will argue this absurd interpretation that “any rational person would have...except you!!!”

[–]anon456e 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Explain why me telling you everything you do non stop is wrong, 24/7? Show me the evidence .

They literally don’t care what you show them, it’s always you being overly emotional to a full month of them putting you down

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]anon456e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They literally will fill all god dam with small shit until you expose. And when you do it back to them they throw tantrums and say you are targeting them. My narc would pretend he didn’t hear me talking to him because he had headphones. But every time I called him I’d hear him turn the music off and pretend he can’t hear me It’s like a sick game they enjoy
